He has certainly supported conservatives more than once.

The willingness to suggest otherwise is typical of the petulance I often complain about.

The division not just among democrats but conservatives as heroes fight overseas is astounding.

I hope you get what you want.

I deeply admire President Bush.

God bless you Dubya, and may he always bless America, even though way too many Americans seem unworthy of such blessing, and even of fine gentlemen like you beginning with DNC and ending with “real” conservatives who are the best allies Hitlery can think of.

They’ll wake up only when a concentration camp will be the venue for their isolationist/ultra-libertarian rants and delusions.

Pray for victory, pray for America

I just wish the President would fight as hard against the second front that is trying to destroy this country as he is against Al Quedat

The left-wing socialist Democrat party and their allies in the print and TV media have had almost 8 years of unanswered attacks against this country and the President.

We have lost the 2nd front because the President refused to fight back.

I still have hopes for a Godfather I ending where the President takes care of all his enemies-—not literally kill them but destroy them politically.

I have been griping about this for years and the only respone I get from the Repubs is to be asked over and over for donations.

I will send you money only when you fight back at least twice as viciously as the attacks upon you Mr President.

We are at war for the heart and soul of this country and your have refused to fight back——sad....

I can promise you a President Thompson wont play that S&&T. Neither would a President or Vice President Huckaby....

We cant win the war in Iraq if we lose the war here-—and we are losing it because our Republican leaders refuse to fight...

“He has certainly supported conservatives more than once.”

When did he do this? When he massively expanded government or when he sides with Mexico against his own country? How about when he gives our money away overseas to lovely people like Fatah?

“The willingness to suggest otherwise is typical of the petulance I often complain about.”

You don’t think “see you at the bill signing” and his immediate withdraw of the Guard when he didn’t get his way is “petulant”?

“The division not just among democrats but conservatives as heroes fight overseas is astounding.”

We owe it to those fighting to hold the home front. The President wants to give it away.

I hear you. But this man has done more than being just another Republican president. This man had to restore decency in the White House. There are some retaliations that simply aren't up to the President to take care of. He has to lead, and mostly by example.

We will understand Dubya's perfectly constitutional style only decades from now. We will miss him dearly one day, believe me. 20 years from now you'll see, maybe sooner than that.

Remember, America is a free Republic, not a monarchy. It was up to the CONGRESS, the Republican Congress to repeal and crush Dhimmicrat arrogance. But the Republican Congress has been an embarassment to conservatives. They have failed to build a missile-proof fortress around the President and the Armed Forces. I understand and accept that some may not agree with GWB on everything, but on this point (and on many others, but let's not digress) they have utterly failed and out of pure fear of the media, conformism and career hopes. They have never trusted Dubya, they have bought into MSM's BS since the beginning and they were ready to lose in 2004 if it wasn't for GWB, the only man to spit on "polls" and "focus groups" and traitorous headlines and to trust the American people and the Armed Forces.

But...who elected them? Congress is the key now, folks. Even George Washington would seem disappointing today, surrounded by those bureaucrats instead of the Founding Fathers. Time for the people to get more involved in the selection process.

Trust America, pray hard for the President and the troops.

You speak the truth but if I’m in a street fight I dont wanta look around and see that Trent Lott has my back :)

President needs to destroy those that are trying to destroy him and the country. It wont matter in 20 years if he was a statesman and above the fray if we are France Jr...or Little Mexico, of a suburb of Red China. Either he goes to war and protects this country against enemies—foreign AND domestic or there will be another President Clinton in the White House and a Congress even more Democrat.

Conservatives have HAD IT with the failure to fight back-—they stayed home in 06 and will do so again in 08. If the eggheads in power dont get this they deserve to lose.

They really need to bring in real people to offer them advice—even if they dont follow it-—I’m tired of them talking to each other. And every time we offer suggestions we get form emails back asking for money.

If there are any suits reading this from the RNC or the White House-—you better take off the gloves and get in the fight. Or we will sit the next election out——we have had it.

I renew my offer to help you anyway I can-—you guys need to talk to us not over us and quit thinking you have all the answers-—it is obvious you do not.

To show you what I mean-—please observe this
1) 90% of the people in the USA dont know who Harry Reid is—they damn sure dont know he is a DEMOCRAT—so when you refer to him from now on he is DEMOCRAT Senator Harry Reid—the Senate Majority leader—the most poereful man in the Senate.
2) Nancy Pelosi is NOT “my good friend on the other side of the aisle” or “my colleague on the left”. She is the DEMOCRAT Speaker of the House from San Francisco—and 3rd in line for the Presidency. 90% of the USA dont know who she is either.
3) Hell-—half the USA doesnt know who the Vice President is-—quit thinking the people you are trying to reach have any political knowledge-—they dont. They sure as hell dont know what “my good friend on the other side of the aisle means”—you may as well be speaking Martian to 90% of the people in the country. C’mon guys-—use your heads...

And for God’s sake——bring in some real people for consultation. What you are doing now is NOT working-—talk about insanity! I thing you guys are trying to lose. You are damn sure taking a pocketknife to a gunfight. Get in the game.

Just an observation: I remember times past when a speech by President Bush would be followed by swarms of supportive posts on FR. That this speech got so little attention on FR speaks louder than most liberal leaning sites.

Now, an opinion: The speech set the tone for the next General Elections. The elections for president and congress will revolve around a single issue. Do voters want to commit troops and budgetary outlays to hostile activities in Iraq for what could be decades? This is not comparable to Korea where a truce exists.

Two presidents in the recent past won with a promise to bring our troops home, Eisenhower in 1952 and Nixon in 1968. I expect we will see a third elected in 2008. Both carried with them increased numbers of their party to Congress.

As to the speech itself, I very much dislike having Al Qaeda thrown in our faces knowing full well the terrorist organization is enjoying relative safety behind the deceptive alliance President Bush made Pakistan. Yes, there is now a slew of Al Qaeda in Iraq, and the ill advised alliance with Pakistan, where the Al Qaeda terrorists are trained is the root problem. Iraq is where the problem manifests itself, but it could be anywhere so long as the core organization is allowed to flourish. Treat the cold, not the symptoms.
