The biggest problem with Michigan is one county—Wayne County (city of Detroit)—literally bringing down the entire state. Subtract this area and Michigan could actually be reasonably healthy economically.

About 43% of the people in this state have brains; the other 57% are sponges, either soaking up productive dollars or socialist propaganda.

Many downtowns in the north resemble movie sets for a depression era film, buildings boarded up, falling down. The real estate market is sinking fast and many people trying to sell are taking a bath. Vibrant small businesses are leaving and being replaced by second-hand stores and consignment craft stores. And I believe unemployment is 7.9%, not 7.2%.

My prediction - The northern counties will see 20 to 40% unemployment in 2008. Granholm the commie is strip mining cash from productive counties and giving it to her political hacks in Detroit, Lansing, Saginaw, etc.

Michigan - What America will be if hillary is elected.

Partially true, but have you seen the unemployment stats for the rest of the state? Pretty high in a lot of non-run-down places also.

We get those ads here in Louisiana too.The ironic thing about it is that a number of people from Michigan came down here after the hurricane seeking work. I’m sure those ads work in the South.Right.

The only problem with this exodus is that many of the people leaving bring with them the same political ideology that screwed over Michigan and other liberal states to begin with.

The term is Locust Liberals. They are in the process of ruining Colorado and New Hampshire to name a few

Yes, but it’s the promise that counts.

“Unfortunately, too many of those who have fled the liberal nonsense of the north continue to vote the same way when they get down here and will bring the liberal nightmare here next.”

Hopefully all the libs WILL leave the state, leaving us in the Up North Red Counties to elect a proper government and get Michigan back on its feet! I agree that our biggest problem IS Wayne County. Maybe we can give it to Ontario, and throw the Governess in for good measure!

Here in Ga and NC we call them halfbacks. They flee the north for sunny Florida, find it too hard and strange for their tastes, and move half way back to our locale. Much to our detriment. They are ruining the city of Roswell, GA.

We have a young couple of halfbacks just across the street from us here in NC.

I’m still grinning from the Oregon trouncing.

And we here in the south are still relishing the Appalachian State win, and will be for quite a while. I hear Appalachian State merchandise is selling like hot cakes in Columbus, Ohio these days.

FL is great if you make your money elsewhere and go there to die. If you move their when you are younger, you find that the wages s-ck, the real estate driven up by the aformentioned retirees/semiretirees, the weather suffocatingly hot, and that many of your neighbors truly our the flotsam and jetsam of humanity (sex offenders, ex-cons, ditzy divorcees, and other people seeking “a new start in life”). Nevada is similar.

Western Michigan is doing fine.

Too bad we aren’t our own state.

Actions speak louder than words. This is so telling. Just look at what happens . . .people move for better jobs, schools, safety, taxes, etc.

The trend is from liberal cities to conservative suburbs, liberal states to conservative states. Liberal schools to conservative schools. Public schools to private schools.

I ask my liberal pals, if you hate conservatives so much, why do you choose to live in conservative areas? They’ll reply “better schools” or “it’s safer.” They just won’t admit their disconnect.

But to me, it tells everything.
