("Where the bishop is present, there is the Catholic Church" - Ignatius of Antioch)
What’s a trans-testicle? Oh, never mind...

Well they got rid of Catholic adoptions, now they can get rid of the whole Church. That may be the reason after all. A few years ago Canada tried the same thing declaring Catholic teaching hate speech.
The only place progressives have been successful is China where they made a fake Catholic Church loyal to the state.

(No local communist or socialist party chapter? Join the Democrats, it's the same thing.)
It is truly a bizarre idea for a State to think it has the power to intrude on the ecclesiastical realm and legislate the criteria for ordination of a church official. Scripture does not recognize any such authority. The only response from the church must be: buzz off, we will not play that game.
Gonna drive the Church in England underground, just like in China. At war with God, it’s almost funny, if not so damn tragic
Didn't England form its own church because King Henry VIII didn't like the rules the Catholic Church had? If the English want a church for transexual nuns, they already have one the queen can order around.

(May the heirs of Charles Martel and Jan Sobieski rise up again to defend Europe.)
When is the Catholic Church in Britain going to "get it"?
Begging for government "exemptions" to its godless, humanist social program is not going to produce diddly squat and it's way past time that the Church realized that its teachings and indeed very existence are of no consequence to the socialists, New Agers, homosexuals and their fellow travelers who run that country.
The Catholic Church must now go into confrontation mode and be prepared to defy this anti-Christian swill. It must prepare itself for prosecution, sanctions, loss of property, money and even imprisonment.
It's come to that.
Compromise with the state will only further weaken the faith of that already sick country. A spiritual rebirth depends on the Church courageously suffering for its beliefs as so often in the past.
There is a simple solution to the problem. The vatican needs to decree that no original records will be stored anywhere in England. They can be stored in a location of the vatican’s choice. If someone needs a copy, it will be faxed to them. Final employment decisions should come from the vatican too.
Vatican City is a sovereign country. British laws do not apply to them.

Thomas More died rather than compromise his principles with secular law. Thomas a Becket also died protecting his beliefs. There comes a time when an ecclesiastical agent must serve one master or another. The state cannot ordain these freaks itself, so if every bishop refuses to do so, they may all end up in jail, but they can guarantee that this abomination will stop with them. And if their courage inspires others to hold the line, maybe the assault on sanity will wear itself out against the bulwarks.
We'll see if the latter-day Church is made of the same stuff as its noble forebears.

Many Christians believe, on strongly held religious grounds, that gender is given before birth and cannot be changed, Archbishop Peter Smith of Cardiff reportedly said.
Many scientists believe the same.
On another note, the Archbishop is right to speak against passage of this law, but if he fails to persuade the politicians, the Church simply cannot obey it. The current leaders of the Anglican Church may be able to live with woman or gay or transgendered priests and bishops, but the Catholic Church simply cannot do so.
