Hillary to blame for taking Hsu's cash, insiders say
Union Leader ^ | 9/15/07 | Robert Novak

Posted on 09/15/2007 5:09:06 AM PDT by LdSentinal

Democratic insiders blame Sen. Hillary Clinton’s micromanaging for her presidential campaign’s acceptance of nearly $900,000 in contributions donated or raised by Norman Hsu, convicted for fraud and a former fugitive.

The Clinton campaign has insinuated that her financial aides dropped the ball in failing to vet Hsu before taking his money. But the senator is obsessive in running her own campaign, taking responsibility for details.

Hsu for many years has been well known in New York Democratic circles, appearing at events with $5,000 to $20,000 in contributions. Recipients were ignorant of his criminal background. Nevertheless, considering Clinton administration scandals about dirty money from Asian businessmen, Democrats are amazed that Sen. Clinton did not thoroughly investigate Hsu before accepting funds.

Ding, ding. Of course she knew and knew for years.

Rush brought up a great point yesterday regarding the vetting of Hsu. Her Thyness has Secret Service protection and has for years. Nobody gets close to someone under Secret Service protection without a thorough background check. She had to know this Hsu guy and what he was about. There's really no way she couldn't have known, unless of course her mind is Jello, jello, jello......

Right. I'm sure the 'rats are shocked, shocked to discover this sort of thing going on in the Clinton boiler-room. Gimme a break. After fifteen years of the clintons it is manifestly obvious that they have neither awareness nor concern about such petty considerations as right and wrong.

Wouldn’t it be luvverly if a bunch of Clintonistas bolted the campaign saying that Hsu’s donations were accepted on Hillary’s orders over their objections and they’re sick of this lying sack of woe?

This is the tip of the iceberg... the connection between Hsu the Chinese government and the Paws et, al..... but why won’t it be investigated... The Congress should at the least investigate it as campaign finance illegality.

What if....

People wanted to funnel large amounts of cash to a campaign and therefore got people like HSU to organize donors like the Paws and thousands of others to make cash contributions to candidates.... This is a violation of Campaign Finance and Ethics.... Go after them with the same venom they spewed to go after Scooter Libby... for NOTHING...

Oh thats right its only dirty when the GOP does it... Its only Hypocrisy when the Right does it....

Hillary doesn’t know what goes on in her own house, in her own campaign or in her own life and people are actually considering making her the POTUS.....

This is insanity.

Oh Ms. President didn’t you realize that when Iran tested that Nuke it meant they really had them? and so why didn’t you intercede before the Mushroom cloud went up in Tel Aviv?

Hillary on Terror.... Well see I suspended disbelief which allowed those crazy Al-Qaedas to shove a dirty bomb up our keester... Oh well... America.. I’m sorry see I apologized and said I was wrong so that makes it right maybe I will be the first President to go to rehab to make it all better for America then you will all forgive me because you have such big hearts....

)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

You would think a SMART person like Hillary would have profiled a name like Hau prior to accepting $850,000.00 bills with a picture of George Washington printed on them. George is the one that cut down the cherry tree, but could not tell a lie about it (or so we used to be told). Oh, well, that kind of integrity is outdated, isn’t it.

“Those familiar with the Clinton response to scandal know the process by heart. It inevitably goes something like this: first, deny any wrongdoing; then explain it as a misunderstanding or bureaucratic mistake; when it is clear there is actual wrongdoing begin to stonewall and obfuscate; then move on to simultaneously attacking anyone who brings up the scandal and dismissing the issue as old news.”

The last line was practiced by Barbara WaWa on the view this week when Elizabeth mentioned Clinton and Monica. Came unglued and said that was all over and done with. They all practice this brand of misdirection and fake outrage.

Doubtful. Hillary! is surrounded by a cadre of true-believers whose liberal philosophy and moral relativism convince them that the ends justify the means. Nothing will stand in the way of achieving their goal, no matter how morally reprehensible.

Tie that in with the unspoken fact that Clintonista backsliders earn a trip to Ft. Marcy Park, and you pretty much bottle up the chance of anyone turning states' evidence.

[So what? She gave it to charity! That’s a real good thing...]

I have yet to see PROOF that she has disposed of the $$.

And if she does give it to charity, which one? One of Hsu’s charities?

[Nobody gets close to someone under Secret Service protection without a thorough background check. ]

Aren’t they obligated to inform her AND the FBI when they accidentally run into a FELON wanted for flight to avoid justice? How did she shut them up? Why didn’t this go further at the time. I have lots of questions.

"This is a violation of Campaign Finance and Ethics.... Go after them with the same venom they spewed to go after Scooter Libby..."

That'll never happen under this administration ('wouldn't be right').
All the more so because we are in an election cycle and Bush in particular fears the appearance of 'politics'.

This could be a great campaign ad for a Republican presidential candidtate. First, we have to find one that has the brains to realize it though.

It's coming. But it's more effective a year from now, unless you're Edwards or Obama. Then it's coming in December, perhaps January.
