She can still be an illegal alien with American born children (anchor babies).......which would qualify the children for medicaid. Afterall, she was at the clinic with sick children.
And if you ever do get it, if you have any interest in a home, you will have to sign it over. That is a federal requirement! This only benefits those who have nothing to lose. Like Illegal aliens.

“Native of Houston” means born there. Maybe the author is wrong, but the article specifically says she is a native of Houston. There are many Hispanics in Texas that have been here for generations. I wish people would understand that not every Hispanic is illegal. There are many here at FR that assume anyone with a Hispanic name is an illegal that has spent their entire life on public assistance.

Okaaay...what is the point of this story. A clinic helping Americans...so? There are clinics in every town, every city that see sick, uninsured kids. I’ve used one in the past **when my H and I were BOTH working** for GYN care, for the kids’ shots. We had no insurance through either job.
Yeah, mom has 5 kids. Maybe she IS married. Maybe dad walked out last year and she’s struggling to keep the family together. Maybe dad got laid off or lost his job and is trying to find another. At least she’s not letting them go sick and untended. Maybe she DOES work but has no insurance. There are a lot out here in that position. Not everyone has $65 per kid for an office visit at any given time.
And not everyone in difficult circumstances is a lazy, unemployed welfare-seeking person.
