If you add that to the tank, it may break down the sludge in the tank as advertised but the sludge will particulate into small pieces and clog up your pipes in the leech field. This obviously creates an even worse problem. My advice, pump the tank once every two years depending upon size of the tank and how many in the household.

****************

That happened to us. The prior owners used it once a month and now we have to have a new drain field dug.

I’m still sitting here fascinated by the way you got your deer head cleaned. Wonder if you could dissolve an entire body the same way? This would be a great episode for CSI —!! What an idea for a murder mystery story.

My neighbor septic system clogged up, he eventually found out the problem, the grandchildren were stealing the candy and flushing the wrappers down the toilet.

Never let any cooking grease drain into the septic tank. Accumulations of grease over a period of time is the #1 cause of septic tank failures. Also things like cigarett buts, sanitary napkins and other feminine products should never find their way into the tank. Good luck

Buried mine in the compost heap for a season. Nice and odor free now.

I'm on a septic sytem.

I use Rid-X and the septic is about the only thing that hasn't given me trouble.

You are correct. Another solution is to valve the washer drain to a grey water tank or system and bypass the septic.

Very clever! This is one cagey piece of advice - I’ll chew on on it for a while (figuratively, of course).

Exlax works better.

That's right! Get it at the source, before it can even think about being a problem!

Here's something for you septic system folks to consider, as a possible "backup". The "Incinolet" - a water-free, electric incinerating toilet. I sh!t you not!

As far as Rid-X goes any PRO out there will tell you not to use it at all. Now there’s my Aunt in Minden,NEV who Pumps her Septic every 15 years who uses Rid-X, which I almost find hard to belive, but she is not known to tell tales. I am also on a intricate septic, my drainfield is 150ft away uphill on my neighbors land, my advice would be not to use it.

Way too complicated. It's better to keep it simple. ...and remember... don't dump too much fertilizer all in one place.

I love products you buy — and then flush down the toilet.

Like beer?

Beer you don't buy -- you just rent it.

It’s hard to find, but I believe they have a web site.

Ok, don't know why I looked this up, as I don't have a septic system. But here ya go: Microbelift
