French FM Kouchner: 'We must prepare for war against Iran'
Jerusalem Post ^

Posted on 09/16/2007 11:48:49 AM PDT by maquiladora

The nuclear Iranian crisis forces the world "to prepare for the worst" which "is war," French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner said Sunday evening, while emphasizing that negotiations should still be the preferred course of action.

Kouchner, quoted by French daily Le Figaro, added that "Iran does whatever it pleases in Iraq ... one cannot find in the entire world a crisis greater than this one."

Let's hope someone in Washington is paying attention to French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner on the dangerous issue of nuclear 'weapons' Iran, plus the fact Iran with terrorist cohort Syria (both armed by Russia) are responsible for murdering American troops serving in Iran.

How many more Americans must die in Iraq and Afghanistan before Washington acts firmly against Iran & Syria's dictatorships?

That's a good point. Kouchner's and Sarkozy's words of new French intent are tougher than those of our President's Administration. I wonder why? Could it be that the French are already forcing their businesses to participate in the sanctions (no new Iran contracts for Gaz, Total), while our leaders' fattest constituents are terrified of paying more for import freight fuel?

Ah...I said “forcing.” ...sorry, M. The word was “urged” against taking any new contracts (Gaz, Total and others). Here’s the link.

Sure looks like the arguments for taking out the Mullahs is in a new phase. When the Germans indicated no further sanctions would really do much good, and now the French are saying war is eminent if the Mullahs do not mend their ways, it looks like the green light is in place to have the button pushed. And though I feel the JP article shown elsewhere revealing said 2K targets etc., was very irresponsible unless the blessing where given to post it for psycops reasons, perhaps the days of the Mullahs are really numbered at this point.
From the political viewpoint, GWB could easily say, he has little option but to strike for the long term welfare of much of the world (oil supplies, ME stability, etc.).
And in this fray, we know a number of a bit more responsible at least in partial public displays, Democrats, would not huff and puff to much if we where to take Iran's nuclear and military machine out permenantly.
With that. I have to hit the sack. Been up since 4PM with 12 hours of at work time. 3:30AM and being at work at 5AM is upon me.

Bernard Kouchner and his boss, SuperSarko, seem to be very much ahead of the game.

If France is so upfront about War against Iran, other European countries would find it difficult to "pull Chirac or Schroeder."

By the way, has De Villepin been indicted yet?

Seems to me GW and Sarkozy did more at that Kennebunkport BBQ than munch burgers.

Sarko might just give the troops a little urban warfare training during the upcoming strikes.

I know it’s a wait and see thing with the French. Always has been and always will be.

But they appear to have more of a spine than we do in this country if one believes the polls and I seen no reason not to other than their samples are skewed. Still the American Sheeple voted in a bunch a spineless idiots into Congress in 2006 so that tells me the polls were not to far off.

IF the French are truly serious, more power to them.

Obviously if Hillary gets elected and with Brown taking over in Britain someone will have to fill the vacuum.

If the French justice system is any indication, I would bet the DGSE will know how to handle the moolas when given the green light (green light? think "Greenpeace, Rainbow Warrior, NZ"). France has considerable assets in Iran.

They don’t have to play the political games our leaders have to for the next year or so until the election is over.

This is not only about Iran but the militant Islamic fundamentalists already in France. Sarko knows that France will be target number 1 in Europe when it comes to inciting violence and rebellion within his country. France has a vested interest in what happens in Iran and finally, a French leader understands that.
