St. Rachel the Flattened loses in court again...
This had less to do with Foreign Policiy decisions by the White House, and more to do about how ridiculous it was to sue the bulldozer manufacturer, because Saint Rachel was a dumbass to stand in front of it in the first place...
But I won't wait to hear that analysis out of the 9th Circuit any time soon...
To: Bean Counter
Wow... and from the 9th circus even. Color me surprised.

Consider how lame their case was that even the nutjob 9th Circuit rejected it! Would someone please post the picture of Nelson saying, “Ha. Ha.”

Even a stopped...or broken...clock indicates the right time twice a day. For the 9th Circuit, IMHO, they are far less accurate and dependable than a broken clock.

Glad to see this lawsuit thrown out.
How ridiculous to sue the maker of the bulldozer in this case. Rachel Corrie foolishly tried to be a human blockade of a bulldozer and was killed. So, the parents decide to sue the bulldozer manufacturer. It’s tough to talk about since she’s dead, but Rachel Corrie had such “compassion” if that’s the word for Palestianians fighting alleged human rights violations by Israel, and apparently zero compassion for the victims of September 11th, or victims of terror in general. She was very selective in her outrage about the state of the world.

I am sure the family was just flattened by the news -— All their hopes of justice smushed like a bug, ground under the treads of the judicial machinery.

Looks like Rachel didn’t have much of a chance as a “red diaper doper baby” being raised by the cretins she drew as parents...

Rachel Corrie foolishly tried to be a human blockade of a bulldozer and was killed. The stupidity is even more spectacular.
According to various reports, she was playing "chicken" with the bulldozers all day long, jumping out of the way at the last split second. On the final "chicken" run, she miscalculated and tripped over a pile of dirt just as the shovel was emptying a load of debris and rebar.

My impression of Corrie is that she was a young woman who became, 1st indoctrinated and foolishly, idealisticaly, mesmorized by a bunch of marxist educators in this country...then bought whole sale into their rhetoric and propoganda and went to the Mid East where she met her fate in the very real, and ugly world created by the PLA, Hamas, and other terrorist organizations that want to enlist people like her (through their marxist enablers in this country) to be their cannon fodder.
...and that is exactly what she became.
? Tragic for her family...but she was an adult that made her choices and then had to experience the harsh consequences.
As a parent and grandparent myself, I feel for her parents...but they should grieve honorably and not wear it on their sleave...and let their girl, who has now gone the way of all the world and left these cares behind, rest in whatever peace she can.

Because no one posted it yet, here’s the decision (on a PDF file): http://www.ca9.uscourts.gov/ca9/newopinions.nsf/6DFD4322CA06B5FA88257359005660A6/$file/0536210.pdf?openelement
I haven’t read it yet, but from a quick scan it looks like the court didn’t get to the merits but booted the suit on the ground of the “political questions” defense. For those unfamiliar, and very roughly, that doctrine directs the court to dismiss a suit when the claims’ resolution turn on a political question, i.e., a matter committed to the discretion of one of the political branches of government - the Legislative and/or Executive.
In this case, while the bulldozers were purchased by Israel, they were financed by the USA; thus Israel’s possession of the CATS was really a result of United States foreign policy.

Cindy and Craig Corrie, sued Peoria, Ill.-based Caterpillar, which manufactured the bulldozer, seeking to hold the company civilly liable for aiding and abetting human rights violations the destruction of civilian homes. Stupid beyond words...did an attorney represent them in this? He/she should be disbarred if so.
To: Bean Counter
Did they indict Sir Issac Newton?
It's all his fault anyway.

Well, Wildcat, one of the lawyers representing the Corrie family is Erwin Chemerinsky, who has just been appointed to be the 1st dean of a new law school at University of California, Irvine. The same guy (presently teaching at Duke) teaches the Constitutional Law section of the nation’s most popular bar Exam prep course.
Such are the ways of the law :-)

Her family were co-conspirators in her brainwashing. They agreed with what she did. Too bad they didn’t all make it a family outing in the middle east. Evil misguided people.

I think your analysis about what motivated and drove Corrie is spot on. However, any empathy I might have had for her family has long since evaporated.
I remember the events of her demise when they transpired. I recall few detractors until her cohorts and parents started (figuratively) dragging her corpse through the streets in a shameful attempt to demonize and blame Israel and the right for her stupidity.
That is when pictures like the one in post #4 started being displayed in response and we became aware of her true agenda. Actions have consequences and Rachel Corrie proves that out.
Her “parents” should be ashamed...
