A follow up on the East Texas Marine that had his car stolen.
20 year old Blake Weller, a Marine from Whitehouse, is on leave and, just three days ago, his car was stolen along with his uniform and medals, including a purple heart.
Police were able to get his car back and now the suspected thief is in jail. But Blake said he is still missing the thing most important to him.
About 5:45am Monday morning Blake received quite a wake up call.
"I received a phone call from Tyler PD and they said they have recovered my car in Dallas," said Corporal Blake Weller.
Dallas Police stopped his car around 3 a.m. on a routine traffic stop. They ran the plates and realized it was stolen.
21 year old Ershaun Waldon was arrested and is in the Dallas County jail, waiting to be transferred to East Texas.
"I'm just happy to have this back in one piece," said Blake.
The 2005 Mazda RX 8 was stolen Friday at the Tyler mall just three days after Blake bought it. Laying in the front seat was his dress blue uniform with his five medals and Purple Heart.
"Definitely missing the [Purple] Heart," said Blake. "I got something back, but I didn't get what I really wanted back."
Blake had just returned from his first tour in Iraq. He earned the Purple Heart after a mortar attack left him with a very serious concussion. However, Blake is still thankful because it could have been worse.

The 2005 Mazda RX 8 was stolen Friday at the Tyler mall just three days after Blake bought it. Aw, man. That really bites. I hope the thief didn't mess it up. Sometimes getting a stolen car back is worse than losing it altogether.
Shweet ride, too. :-)

With as many moonbats as there are in this country, a NCO should be smarter than to leave his uniform in the front seat for all the pukes to see. That’s something you shouldn’t be doing on a Marine Corps base let alone out in slimeville.

Does the DoD replace this stuff? No.

imagine the possibilities if it got in the wrong hands.

I had an RX-8. You're right.
By the way, has John Kerry come up with any new Purple Hearts? He won three in Vietnam, you know.

Most likely a grunt, too.

Surplus stores in Oceanside or Jacksonville sell every Marine uniform and just about every medal.

I know the dress blues can be purchased, but is there a way that the medals can be replaced -- as in, can someone pay for them to be replaced for him?

He can get replacements for them himself at Cash Sales. Hopefully, he’s learned an important lesson and he’ll catch enough grief from his fellow Marines when he gets back to the left coast that he won’t make this mistake again. Someone else buying replacements for him won’t teach him that lesson.

I ws thinking the same thing.

You are right, at least about the Dress Blues. The Blues are not an issued uniform and is normally purchased by the Marine. It may be issued if the job the Marine is doing requires one ... like an embassy guard etc.

See reply #18.
They will replace the Medals but I don’t know if they’ll replace his Blues.
