Sally Field Does Not Speak for Me, Motherhood requires ferocity.
National Review Online ^ | Sept 19, 2007 | Michelle Malkin

Posted on 09/19/2007 9:19:24 AM PDT by Jenny Hatch

Hollywood can afford to indulge Sally Field’s inarticulate naivete. America cannot. And the very moms that Sally Field claims to speak for know it.

This weekend, I met dozens of military mothers in Washington, D.C., who fervently oppose the Sally Field/Cindy Sheehan model of maternal submission and immediate surrender. They were among several thousand grassroots activists who turned out for the “Gathering of Eagles” counterdemonstration on the National Mall.

Deborah Johns, mother of William, a Marine who has served three tours of duty in Iraq, condemned the Left’s demonization of Gen. David Petraeus and urged Congress to oppose a precipitous withdrawal from Iraq. “Cindy Sheehan doesn’t speak for me,” Johns said. “She has never spoken for me. And she will never speak for me. . . . We are not going to let the domestic enemies at home defeat us like they did” during the Vietnam War.

Debbie Lee, mother of Mark, the first Navy SEAL killed in Iraq, rejected the anti-war movement’s infantilization of the troops. She was galled at the George Soros-funded ANSWER “die-in” usurping the names and legacies of those who have died serving in Iraq. Describing her son’s heroism and her support of the counterinsurgency efforts in Iraq, she said: “You can’t ‘take’ someone’s life who gives it . . . and Mark willingly gave his life. . . . God redeployed Mark to heaven.”

Michelle is great and spot on as usual.
Sally would standy idly by as she watched her lambs led to slaughter.
That doesn’t work for any of us parents with a brain.

Sally Fields should ask the Argentines about Margaret Thatcher and the Syrians and Egyptians about Golda Meir.

Rule No. 1 regarding Hollywood and its denizens: Everything is illusion.

Sally Field and other Hollywood “mothers” have only themselves to thank for what I consider the stereotype of mothers in that world. They would be single women, attentive more to the career than to the child, with an army of nannies to provide the care which should come from the actual mother.

The astronomical Hollywood divorce and remarry, rate, reckless serial infidelity, along with the upwardly spiraling number of women who choose to remain single yet somehow get pregnant (Jodie Foster, Cam Manheim, for example), or adopt children as accessories a la Jolie and Joan Crawford, precludes them from donning the mantle of motherhood in any meaningful sense.

Please help me here, did Sally Fields have any babies and if so who was the father? Last I heard any about her she was dating Governor Moonbeam. Is she a mother?

All anyone has to do is take a lesson from nature. Take any animal you want and fool around with her babies and see what will happen. She becomes ferocious in protecting her young. I’m not talking just bears and lions. I’m talking any animal. Why would humans be any different? (excepting liberals, who of course are mentally challenged)

The most dangerous place in the universe to be is between a mother and her babies. Well, except if they’re Sally Fields’ kids.

2 sons - by her first husband - can’t recall his name.

Her biography on NNDB shows that her father was an army officer who was divorced from her mother when she was only 6, and she grew up in a step-family. Perhaps this is the "root" of her attitudes. The first husband was also apparently not a Hollywood type. From NNDB:

AKA Sally Margaret Field
Born: 6-Nov-1946
Birthplace: Pasadena, CA
Father: Richard (US Army officer, div. 1950, d. 30-Apr-1993 stroke)
Mother: Margaret Field (actress, b. 10-May-1923)
Brother: Richard Dryden Field Jr. (physicist, b. 14-Apr-1944)
Father: Jock Mahoney (stepfather, actor-stuntman, b. 7-Feb-1919, d. 14-Dec-1989 stroke)
Sister: Princess O'Mahoney (stepsister, backstage TV worker, b. 20-Aug-1952)
Sister: Elizabeth Jane Field (stepsister)
Sister: Shirley Field (stepsister)
Husband: Steven Craig (construction contractor, m. 16-Sep-1968, div. 1975, two sons)
Son: Peter Craig (novelist, b. 10-Nov-1969 with Craig)
Son: Elijah Craig (actor-producer, b. 25-May-1972 with Craig)
Boyfriend: Burt Reynolds (dated 1977-82, refused marriage)
Husband: Alan Greisman (film producer, m. 15-Dec-1984, div. 1993, one son)
Son: Samuel Greisman (b. 2-Dec-1987 with Greisman)

I remember not too long after 9-11 a Freeper - a YOUNG TEENAGE FReeper - drew a WONDERFUL graphic of the Lady Liberty holding a baby swaddled in the American flag with one hand and a smoking revolver in the other and the caption said "THE MOST DANGEROUS PLACE IS BETWEEN A MOTHER AND HER CHILD" - I thought it was a perfect expression of how we all wanted our nation to respond to the terrorists...as we know, all of that got shooed away and we had the IVs with the drone-juice pumped back in "we didnt really mean that" and "dont overreact."

I think that picture should be the response to Sally Fields.

Sally Field was speaking on behalf of Gidget, and her ‘girlfriend’ with osteoperosis.....(chuckle)

I’m convinced they are one in the same, and she’s simply a nutcase.

Forced marriages

Genital mutilation

Lapidation

Where are all of those moms? Besides cooperating, that is.
