WHY DEMOCRATS JUST ABSOLUTELY HATE BEING CALLED .....

WHY DEMOCRATS JUST ABSOLUTELY HATE BEING CALLED .....

I've always being one who likes to get under the skin of the collective left, and glorioski, have I found a way to rattle Democrats. You just refer to their wonderful party as the Democrat Party! Lordy, does this put a burr in their thongs.

Well .. now I think I've found out why! A buddy of mine at CNN (who, for obvious reasons, shall remain unnamed) provided me with some interesting information. Joseph J. Ellis wrote a book called "Founding Brothers, The Revolutionary Generation." I ordered my copy this morning. One of the Amazon.com reviews for this book says "This book is really unique in that it gives a really interesting perspective not only on the men [our founding fathers] , but the dynamic between them." Now in that book by this renowned historian you will find some tasty information on the origination of the word "democrat." Many times I've told you that our founding fathers were none too fond of the idea of democracy, or, as they viewed it, mob rule. Here's the quote:

"... the term "democrat" originated as an epithet and referred to 'one who panders to the crude and mindless whims of the masses.'" Don't you love it? Could anything better define today's Democrat Party? Get with the program folks. It's the Democrat, not the "Democratic" Party.

Democracy - Greek for "mob rule".

Early example - "Give us Barabbas".

I doubt that’s the reason Democrats dislike the term, for the simple reason that it is likely few of them are aware of its meaning at the time of the Founding.

The President today commenting on the Moveon.org Petraeus ad:

"I was disappointed that not more leaders in the Democrat party spoke out strongly against that kind of ad, and that leads me to come to this kind of conclusion: That most Democrats are afraid of irritating a left-wing group like MoveOn.org — are more afraid of irritating them — than they are of irritating the United States military. That was a sorry deal," the president said.

This explains everything. One Democrat became angry with me for using the word “Democrats”. He said he hated when people used that word because it sounded derogatory. That made no sense to me at all. Now I understand why.

Yup...they’ve turned “mob rule” into “the will of the people,” with help from the MSM.

The “people”...who they can manipulate and control through the media, pollsters, educational system and government bureaucracies.

I’ve noticed they do get a bit testy when Democrat Party is used, and I’ve been doing so ever since.

The fact of the matter is not only is that description accurate, its become obvious liberals in general are rank cowards...so afraid they’ve even come up with a ‘new description’ perferring the term ‘progressive’ these days.

Bunch of wimps, every single one of them. and as such unfit for the Presidency in times like these.

Then there is the odd ‘sub group’ that tries to hide behind the title of ‘Libertarian’.

You can easily out them, by asking what their position is on the 2nd amendment. Its like using a duck call, they pop right out of the ‘libertarian brush’ every single time.

They also got the MSM to change their representation on voting maps from Red to Blue. It’s only been this way for the last couple elections and it is only NOW that they call states “Red” or “Blue”.

But we aren’t supposed to remember these things.

Yes. I always thought that there was something dishonest and shifty in coloring the red state blue, and the blue states red. I believe that the New York Slimes started that.

The Democrat Party is deffinitely the red one, and the Republicans the blue. Red generally means leftist.

I started questioning this years ago. Democrats tried to tell me that they had always been the Democratic Party, it was just that Republicans were trying to slur them by using the term Democrat Party.

However all I got was a dirty look when I asked "So if there is a story about a subject on which both parties agree, it should read "Republicans and Democratics both agree..."".

Yes, in the 18th century terms like “democrat” and “democratic” and “democratical” (commonly used then, though not now) were almost always terms of abuse — implying irrational mob rule and demagoguery. Virtually all of the founders thought they were creating a “republic” not a “democracy” due to the problems that are exemplified by our contemporary demagogues: frenzied and irrational appeal to the passions, reckless depravity, etc.

btw, while Joseph Ellis is supposed to be a fine historian, he is also the guy who fabricated a whole section of personal biography over the years to puff up his early years:

http://hnn.us/articles/8656.html

For nearly a decade, in his classes at Mount Holyoke on Vietnam and American culture, Ellis would enrich the course content by recounting his own experiences in the Vietnam War and the anti-war movement. In 2000, in an interview with the Boston Globe, he made a number of claims. He said that he had served in Vietnam in 1965 as a leader and paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division. He said that he had worked on the staff of General William C. Westmoreland in Saigon. He said that he had been active in the civil rights movement and in the peace movement.

A little research subsequently revealed that he had lied. As an undergraduate he served in the R.O.T.C at William and Mary, emerging from the program in 1965 as a second lieutenant. Instead of serving in Vietnam, as claimed, he had attended graduate school at Yale. He was not active in either the civil rights movement or the peace movement. After he graduated with a doctorate in 1969, he began active duty, but he served not in Vietnam but as a history professor at West Point, where he remained until 1972, when he finished his duty as a captain.

To many it was a shock that Ellis would risk so much for so little.

One Democrat became angry with me for using the word “Democrats”.

Just to tick them off more, ask them what do they call themselves in a group. I asked several democrats just that.

"If you are in a meeting, are you a group of democratics?"

That will make them spit nails.

The negative association for the word Democrat/Democratic goes back to the French Revolution... it was directly associated with the extreme revolutionaries who murdered the king and queen and all the aristocrats they could find... These extremists made a truly everlasting name for themselves by some of the absolutely grisly things they did in the name of the ‘revolution’. The ‘terror’ of the guillotine was not the least of it. One of these wild beasts, once the young lady was beheaded, publicly cut out her heart and ate it in front of the crowd. Of course he was cheered but the ‘revolution’ was a tainted whore from that time forward... no matter the political gains. Crowned heads and aristocrats all over Europe hated the word ‘democrat’ forever after. I remember reading that the human head once severed from the body, yet retained some consciousness. As one unfortunate man was beheaded, someone in the crowd immediately picked up the head and held it facing the headless body lying on the guillotine so that the bodiless head could see its own headless body before losing consciousness. Democrats then did charming things like that...in the name of change.
