Glossing over the less appealing line items on his gun control resume, ex-NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani presented himself as sympathetic to the aims of the National Rifle Association and pledged, as president, to protect gun rights.
"Your right to bear arms is based on a reasonable degree of safety," he said.

Rudy saying what he has to say to be acceptable isn’t surprising.
What is surprising to me is the NRA’s position appears to be ‘evolving’.....

He got an epiphany, i.e., he needs the votes of the gun-totin’ people who believe in the 1st amendment.
Once upon a time BF, Rudy was happy to cluck, what you gonna do, then Fred showed up. Rudy had an epiphany, sure he did, but it won’t last.

It takes a big man to admit when you’re wrong. It also takes a scumball to flip whatever way the wind is blowing. And To tell you the truth, I think he’s just looking to get a bump back into the first tier *yawn*
And one more thing, from the article, quoting RG: “I believe that law endforcement should focus...” Now THAT is an apropos typo!!
Sorry, our right is not based on any degree of safety. It is a right period. A person has the right to protect themself anywhere, not just in their home. They also have the right to use them for hunting, competition, etc.
