From Eli Pariser, the Executive Director of MoveOn. Dear MoveOn member,
Yesterday, an amazing thing happened. After the Senate's shameful vote, and after President Bush called MoveOn "disgusting," our email started to fill up with messages like this one:
I'm currently in Iraq. I do not agree with this war, and if I did support this war, it would not matter. You have the RIGHT to speak the truth. We KNOW that you support us. Thank you for speaking out for being our voice. We do not have a voice. We are overshooted by those who say that we soldiers do not support organizations like MoveOn. WE DO.
YOU ARE OUR voice.
And then came the donations. By midnight, over 12,000 people had donated $500,000more than we've raised any day this yearfor our new ad calling out the Republicans who blocked adequate rest for troops headed back to Iraq.

Just what did they expect Moveon.org to do after the humiliating vote against it in the Senate yesterday and the possibility that the House will have to vote on a bill just like it?
Did they think Moveon.org would send out an email saying "gee, we really screwed up, America now sees us for the lunatics we really are, please don't hold it against us and by the way, send money."
Lordy, the naiveness of these Moveon.org members is astounding!
If true, a huge question.
Then it merely confirms what a bunch
of addled fools contribute to ‘Move on’
Moveon may be vile but they are a money raising machine. Many here on the right have been looking at their model and wonder why we don’t have something similar. They raise a lot of small donor cash.
And, apparently, by the English Language.
Let’s pretend these claims are true. By giving them so much publicity and filling their bank accounts (supposedly), Bush is doing more to make Moveon.org the face of the Democratic Party than anything these leftists could have done. Think about it. In who’s benefit is it if the Moveon.org nuts become the face of the Democratic Party?
“overshooted”?
Allow me to “deconstruct” thier “model” for raising money. Most of the donators are either government-employees, students who are federal-loan recipients, and or entitlement dead-beats. Thus, the percentage of MoveOn.Org donators have salaries/incomes that are directly tied to increases in taxation/goverment spending.
Right now, they donate portions of their incomes (which are really just your and my tax dollars) to MoveOn.Org in order to elect more socialist politicians. You see, you and I would invest in stocks and or mutual funds to create wealth for ourselves via the free market. These kooks veiw their donations to MoveOn.Org as investments. Trust me, the fully expect a return on that investment in the form of bigger tax-and-transfer programs from their favorite politicians.
“naiveness”?
Riiiight. Nice try, pinkos.
BTW, "overshooted"?
You are correct. I surf over at DU from time to time. I am always amazed by the number of them that are just one step ahead of having to file bankrucpty or getting kicked out of their double wide for non-payment of rent; yet these loons always have $25 to $50 to send to moveon.org and DU.
That being said; I am saddened by the number of claimed high school teachers that post at the DU web site. These loons are teaching our kids!
“And then came the donations. By midnight, over 12,000 people had donated $500,000more than we’ve raised any day this yearfor our new ad calling out the Republicans who blocked adequate rest for troops headed back to Iraq.”
So, that’s a buck apiece from 11,999 people, and the rest from Babs?
Also, with that nice discount you guys got on the “Betray Us” ad, 500K should get you quite a few ads. I hope so, as each time you dingleberries do that, you give us a few more votes in ‘08.
Rove, you magnificent bastard!
Yes, naiveness.........
naivete, naivety, naiveness
lack of sophistication or worldliness

So then, basically....WE TAXPAYERS are funding and donating to MoveOn.Org....indirectly. That's just swell.
Taypayer revolt, anyone?
You mean...indoctrinating.
Gee when I was in Iraq last year, it was a voluntary assignment. Did that change??
“Think about it. In whos benefit is it if the Moveon.org nuts become the face of the Democratic Party?”
Certainly, Bush hasn’t recieved a bump of any kind in the last two weeks, which have been pretty contentious.
The base may be hardening, but nobody’s moving either left or right, least of all the Independents.
Regarding the war, I think everybody has made their mind up already. Their opinions will only be changed by actions, not words.
Don’t forget, in the 2004 cycle, 1/3 of thier cash came from OFFSHORE, NON-US Sources....
For the first time in our HISTORY, thanks to McCain-Feinglod, HUGE somes of foriegn cash are being used to influence our elections, and Democrats are sucking it up...
Those clowns would have donated eventually anyway.
I think Putin wrote that for them.
I’ll be they keep some big donors on standby to donate kicks of $50K or $100K whenever they want to do one of these announcements..... there are no limits on donation size for them, so one or a few big liberals could easily bump the number up a lot on command (if it is even an accurate number).
Touche’. Thought the only accepted form was naivete.
