I disagree.
If the attack on 9-11 didn’t wake up this nation, NOTHING will.
Oh, yeah, a lot of people were riled up after those attacks.
For about two weeks.
Then it was back to “Reality” TV (a contradiction in terms ever there EVER was one) and the other worthless pursuits of a mostly me-first, entertainment-oriented populace.
To the overwhelming majority of Americans, with the help of the MSM and the POTUS, Islam became a “Religion of Peace” that was “highjacked” by a small band of radicals.
Only two or three nukes in major cities is all that will be needed to bring this country to its knees.
The economy will collapse, and there won’t be anywhere near enough resources to deal with the destruction and death from such an attack and its radioactive fallout.
Millions will die in one hour.
Millions more within a few days from the radioactive fallout.
Millions more will die over the next weeks and months from lack of food, water, medicine, fuel, electricity and the ensuing social disorder.
And not one, NOT ONE, retaliatory missile will be launched.
Sleep on.

WOW, scary.

Ping.
Is this paper they found in ‘91 available to the public?
If we could just find a way to redefine Islam as an ideology, it wouldn’t be illegal to discriminate. And it is a hostile ideology as surely as Nazism or Communism.
Somehow the terminology must change. It is islam that is the problem, not “radical islam” or “islamism”. But Islam writ large. That’s what we have to do.
Quite so.
It may be, unfortunately, that the great American Experiment cannot survive it’s own ideals. They were great ideals set forth in the Constitution, by men who were uncommon even across generations. But they designed a country that never imagined such a purity of evil within.
We’ll see.
