Hsu Is Held Without Bail in 1992 Fraud Conviction (The Womanchurian Candidate)
New York Times ^ | 9/22/07 | By CAROLYN MARSHALL

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Sept. 21 — Norman Hsu, the fund-raiser for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and other Democrats who was charged with defrauding investors in a multimillion-dollar scam, was ordered held without bail here on Friday in a 1992 fraud pleading that his lawyer now wants expunged. Continues...

===============================================================

The Womanchurian Candidate

Democrats are preparing 'The Best Tax Increase In American History!' The Clintons are having a Chinagate scandal. O.J. just got arrested. Hillary's plugging her health plan. Question is, can Bob Dole beat Bill Clinton in November? Oops, sorry. Thought for a second there we were back in the 90s.

Speaking of Chinagate, if I remember it correctly, Bill Clinton waited a few years into his Most Ethical Administration in History to have his first Chinagate scandals, but Hillary wants an early start.

So many criminals are lining up to donate to Hillary, the campaign now says it will run full criminal background checks on big donors, vowing to be on the lookout for those subtile clues, like donors who've been indicted multiple times for fraud, convicted of grand theft, on the lam for 15 years, jumping bail -- that sort of thing. With Hsu, the campaign just didn't have enough info to ignore. Hillary explained that these things happen "when you have as many contributors as I'm fortunate enough to have."

In fact, Hillary announced in July that she had raised $27 million in the second quarter. She thanked China.

To make her case that she's on top of things and should be president, Hillary insists she didn't know a thing about her top disgraced fundraiser Norman Hsu. Didn't know he's a convicted felon. Didn't know he was a fugitive. Didn't know he ran a Ponzi scheme. Didn't know he screwed investors out of $1 million to launch a latex glove business. He never bought the latex, so it was unprotected sex.

Hsu's status within the Hillary campaign had catapulted to "HillRaiser" for his efforts at raising cash, which Hillary didn't know either.

But security officials say that for Hsu to have his picture taken standing next to Hillary during fundraisers, Hsu had to be put through hefty background checks by the protective intelligence division of the Secret Service. Other than these background checks, Hsu just never had a background check.

The campaign was warned back in June after California businessman Jack Cassidy warned California Democrat Party honchos that Hsu was operating a Ponzi scheme. The Campaign That Didn't Know A Thing About Hsu responded with this: "I can tell you with 100% certainty that Norman Hsu is not involved in a Ponzi scheme. He is COMPLETELY legit."

Then when the campaign figured out what a fugitive is, it announced it would give to 'charity' the $23,000 that Hsu gave to Hillary. One week later Hsu skipped court, became a fugitive again so the campaign announced it's "returning" $850,000 of Hsu's tainted money, asking the 260 straw-donors who were too poor to donate the money to return the tainted money to the campaign, so long as they're committed -- like the Clintons -- to not being criminals and provided they pass the new "background check" which consists of, "You're not a crook, right?" But the next shoe to drop was Hsu, who dropped to the floor of a sleeper cabin in an Amtrak train bound for Chicago.

Before boarding the train, Hsu had sent letters to friends, among them a New York outfit called the Innocence Project, co-founded by O.J. lawyer Barry Scheck, which seeks to prove people are in prison because they're innocent, just like O.J. The letter was a suicide note. Friends say they had no idea he was Hsuicidal.

(Hsu retains the services of PR firm, Sitrick & Co. People trying to commit suicide always hire a PR firm.)

But long before the Hsu dropped, the "COMPLETELY legit" felon's name oddly turns up in the pages of the 1998 Senate Governmental Affairs Committee report, called the Investigation on Illegal or Improper Activities in Connection With The 1996 Federal Election Campaign: "Norman Hsu -- a $7,500 check written on Sioeng San Wong's account to friends of Norman Hsu on March 11, 1995. Hsu is a former president of the Chinese-American Association."

The '98 Senate report, and the House's Cox Report issued the following year, detailed how the PRC laundered big bucks into Clinton's '96 re-election campaign, with Clinton later reimbursing his China chums with advanced ballistic missile guidance technology via Loral & Space Communications, headed coincidentally by mega-Clinton donor Bernard L. Schwartz, who's coincidentally on the board of the New School University in New York, the same joint where Norman Hsu coincidentally "served" as trustee until the scandal broke. Before the scandal broke, Schwartz and Hsu worked closely on the board. I'm sure that's also a coincidence.

In the Chinagate scandal, despite Janet Reno constantly running interference, 22 people were convicted, most of them longtime Clinton pals and appointees to the Most Ethical Administration in History. In his July '98 report, Charles La Bella, who headed DOJ's campaign finance task force, told Reno that a "pattern suggests a level of knowledge within the [Clinton] White House -- including the President's and First Lady's offices -- concerning the injection of foreign funds into the election effort . . . If these allegations involved anyone other than the president, vice president, senior White House or DNC and Clinton-Gore '96 officials, an appropriate investigation would have commenced months ago without hesitation." He urged the manly-looking Reno to appoint an Independent Counsel. Then-FBI Director Louis Freeh called on Reno to appoint an Independent Counsel. Robert Conrad Jr., successor to La Bella, called on Reno to appoint an Independent Counsel. All such calls were ignored -- even though Janet Reno was once State Attorney himself.

The pundit grandees keep saying don't worry, GOP's kaput, election's in the bag for Hillary, and -- indeed -- looking at the nomination race, the news about campaign finance corruption should make her nomination a Hsu-in, er, shoo-in. But if you look beyond the primaries, her problem in the general election is legacy -- the legacy of hauling off the White House furniture, nearly getting indicted, hiding billing records, stealing FBI files, Travel office kickbacks, "cleaning out" Foster's office, her stunning investment acumen with cattle futures, Peter Paul, etc., not to mention the scandals of First Lady wannabe, Bill Clinton. Monica, Impeachment, disbarment, Chinagate, Marc Rich, Paula Jones, Flowers, Broaddrick, Willey, Lincoln Bedroom, Wag the Dog wars, Whitewater, Troopergate, just to mention a few.

For all the talk about running on "change", Eva Rodham Peron's running on Oligarchy. Vote for me, I'm Bill Clinton's wife. Al Gore didn't run as Clinton's wife, but even as incumbent Veep running on "Peace and Prosperity", he still lost. Without the DUI story at the last minute, it'd have been Bush in a landslide.

Next year, Hillary takes the Democrat Party down in flames.

Anyway, that's...
My Two Cents...

Thank you once again, JohnHuang2!

It's obvious that the media is going to do their best to ignore this and bury it as quickly as possible. It's just that it's so huge that they have to report some aspects of it or lose any credibility they have left (if any, which is pretty much none.)

The thing that sticks out in my mind is that there seems to be an absence of polling on the topic with respect to hillary clinton. Given the trends of the MSM to do these things, I kind of expected to see at least a few of them.

There's been an absence of such polls on the topic, however and it's impact on clinton.

I suspect it's more of a reaction to results they have received on quietly taken polls behind the scenes rather than they haven't taken any.

This scandal simply confirms that another clinton in the White House will be embracing another 8 years of constant embarrassing scandal on top of the trillion dollar tax hike she has already proposed to inflict upon us.

Thanks for the reminder to watch for what is NOT being reported. It is one of the key components of what it takes to be an alert consumer of "news" in this dncmedia world.

You're a heck of a wordsmith. I'm glad you didn't list all of i42's and hillary's scandals, I would've gotten bored reading them all.

SoCal investors sue Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu

A Laguna Beach investment firm filed a lawsuit against Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu on Friday, claiming he defrauded investors out of at least $23 million and required them to donate to Democratic candidates.

According to the lawsuit filed by Briar Wood Investments, Hsu persuaded the company’s operator to do business with him by taking him to star-studded Democratic Party events. There, the 56-year-old Hong Kong native was praised by New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, California Atty. Gen. Jerry Brown and others, the lawsuit said.

As a condition of doing business with the fundraiser, Hsu directed investors to make contributions to certain Democratic candidates, the lawsuit said. The investors turned over tens of thousands of dollars, including $30,000 worth of checks to Clinton’s campaign on a single day.

The lawsuit is the latest in a series of legal troubles that continue to mount for Hsu.

Last week, New York investors filed a similar suit against Hsu. On Thursday, federal prosecutors unsealed a criminal complaint accusing Hsu of operating a national Ponzi scheme and reimbursing investors for donations made in their names. And on Friday, a San Mateo County judge ordered Hsu held without bail in a 1991 theft case.

According to the lawsuit, Waters invested with Hsu in part because “prominent persons, including Sen. Hillary Clinton, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, California Atty. Gen. Jerry Brown, national Democratic political adviser James Carville, film director Steven Spielberg, actor (Tobey) Maguire, grocery store magnate/billionaire Ron Burkle and others introduced and/or endorsed Hsu as a friend, colleague and trusted associate.”

Great treatment of the Clinton pattern of corruption. Here's the part that really sticks in my craw:

Clinton later reimbursing his China chums with advanced ballistic missile guidance technology via Loral & Space Communications, headed coincidentally by mega-Clinton donor Bernard L. Schwartz, who's coincidentally on the board of the New School University in New York, the same joint where Norman Hsu coincidentally "served" as trustee until the scandal broke. Before the scandal broke, Schwartz and Hsu worked closely on the board. I'm sure that's also a coincidence.

I hope someday the Clintons and their co-conspirators hang for this.
