I have attended several meet-up groups and that seems like a fair assessment. I don’t see any leftwingers there, though there might be a few.

"The scare rhetoric is no longer working, as evidenced by the poll numbers, signifying a growing discontent in the general electorate"

Conversely, the cut'n'run rhetoric is working to your delight, signifying a growing discontent with finishing what was started. I don't suppose working in concert with NYT/CNN/ABC/CBS/NBC/BBC/CNBC, etc, shames you one bit does it? With useful idiots like this working against us, external enemies are just a sideline distraction.

Polls are food for fools.

"Go get back in your safe zone under the bed junior."

I will self censor myself as to where you should go, but I know that you don't belong on Freerepublic IMO.

Just goes over your head doesn't it? Poor lad. History has already shown us what the result will be. Banging the drum louder isn't going to change the results. As I've said in the past, 'finish' what was started. I don't really care. The result will be the same within a generation

Awwww, I didn't know you cared....

Remember this very specifically. This time next year, whoever the Republican candidate is he will be talking about ending the police action. It may be under the miraculous 4-6 month turn around of everything going 'great' all the sudden (which in reality it won't be) but the Republican candidate will be calling for a plan to bring the troops home. Maybe you can send him some hatemail.

As for Iran, Bush II and doesn't have the political capital to even try and make the same mistake in Iran

Dr. Demento is an antiwar antiAmerican nutcase. What IS it that the Sunpaper can possibly find unexpected in his support base of antiAmerican nutcases and particularly those on college campuses???? Wishful delusions of the leftist lamestream media ideologically lusting after the paleopeacecreep as a potential (not really!) GOP candidate. What's more Dr. Demento was once the nominee of the recreational drug legalization party aka the Libertoonians.

Peace, LUV and dope, man!

who knows how low his support is.

Agreed.....but now you're changing horses in midstream. You flatly declared earlier that his support was only 1 to 3 percent. With sampling error, of course, it could be as high as 7 (if the Gallup poll is right) or low as 1 percent. A bit of a double standard there....especially when somebody questions you closely.

If the leftist college punks want to participate next year, they are going to choose between Osama Obama and Mrs. Arkansas Antichrist and the Breck Girl in the Demonratic primaries or caucuses or Dr. Demento in the GOP primaries or caucuses. They are not supposed to vote in both. Even the younger division of antiwar antiAmerican surrendermonkeys know better than to think that Dr. Demento's pal Cuckoocinich is nominatable in the name brand cowardice party. As to the GOP, what Dr. Demento supporter has a clue???

Small gummint your Aunt Tillie's patoot! If you think that smaller gummint is likely to be the result of next year's electoral festivities, you may be more delusional than the Galveston idjit.

I'll believe in the sincerity of the paleowindtunnels on the smaller gummint subject when they start devoting as much energy and political capital to abolishing the gummint skewels (not just the DOE) which are the leftist training grounds for the next generation as they now spend on attacking this country in league with their Al Qaeda pals and undermining its warriors and seeking to legalize "recreational" pharmaceuticals.

As far as the article and its author are concerned, has something happened to the usual gang of antiAmerican suspects in the MSM to make either worth paying attention to? Their opinions are such as to be that "up with which we shall not put," as Winston Churchill once grammatically observed.

What would happen if Dr. Demento were to campaign at college campuses on free market principles regarding college tuitions. No Pell grants, no subsidized student loans, no Stafford loans or grants, no substitutes???? Not only would his college supporters (except for an uberwealthy wealthy handful)evaporate instantly but the professoriate would be facing the bleak prospect of middle class existence as well in short order. Does the paleosurrenderman have a “constitutional” provision to justify college pork any more than he has to justify shrimpin’ pork?

Limited sanity, perhaps but Dr. Demento has done zero, zip, nada to “limit gummint” in his all too many decades in public life. Dr. Demento should run 3rd party to draw votes from Mrs. Arkansas Antichrist. He sure as heck won’t draw significantly from Republicans.

Are you actually deluding yourself that paleoPaulie will run ahead of any, much less each and every one of Fred Thompson, Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani (barf!) in even one primary or statewide caucus in which none of those three have dropped out? Name the states. Your boy's patoot is going to be kicked soooo bad in each and every caucus and primary that he will wind up on, ummmm, Uranus. AntiAmericanism does not play well in the GOP. Nor pacifism, nor neo-isolationism, nor Neville Chamberlain surrendermonkeyism nor delusional moonbattery of the Dennis Cuckoocinich kind.

The "straw polls" being run at the annual dinners of the Shrimpin', trolleymeister, bus subsidy, antiwar antiAmerican lobbies are not significant. Voting that chooses delegates is.

You do realize that 4% is not a majority or even a plurality, right???

Sure...but it represents dramatic progress over less than one percent not so long. The trend is consistently on the upswing. Will it continue? Nobody can tell right now. Please note that Kerry was also at 4 percent at this time in 2003 yet won the nomination.

Come to think of 24 percent (Fred's current standing) isn't much of a "majority" or even plurality either. This race is still wide openg and after Fred's fumbling in Michigan even more so. It is a perfect storm of fragmentation which can only benefit folks in the lower tier (especially Paul and Huckabee).

"History has already shown us what the result will be."

If you are a victim of public education, I can't blame you for your myopic view of History.

"This time next year, whoever the Republican candidate is he will be talking about ending the police action."

Let's bet on that

Put your money where your mouth is Mohammed!!!!

You should be allowed to have all the rope you need to hang yourself.

America is winning, will continue to win, and the result, as we are seeing already, will embarass the anti-war, linguini spined idiots, if they are capable of it.

Do you care to put a bet on your assinine assertion that

"This time next year, whoever the Republican candidate is he will be talking about ending the police action."

I'm hoping your as dumb as your foreign policy views are.
