Man sentenced for raping girl

A 30-year-old illegal immigrant was sentenced to at least five years in state prison in Bucks County court Friday, five months after he admitted to repeatedly raping an adolescent girl.
Carlos Salustio, a Mexican immigrant who was living illegally in Warminster, pleaded guilty in April to rape of a child and related charges for as many as 25 sexual incidents with the girl over a two-year period, starting when the girl was 10.
In a tearful speech in front of Judge Albert Cepparulo, the girl, who is now 13, said her family was “torn apart” after Salustio was arrested in December. The victim has been in custody of the county’s Children and Youth agency and separated from her mother since the arrest. Her mother has denied that Salustio ever raped her daughter. The mother and daughter sat on opposite sides of the courtroom Friday.
The victim said she was scared to report Salustio’s abuse, but felt she had to since she did not want him to sexually assault another girl.
“I don’t want another girl to go through what I went through and I don’t want him to do this again,” the victim said in court between sobs. “I hope he never touches another girl again.”
Cepparulo congratulated the victim for reporting the sex crime to police.
“We think that you are very brave,” Cepparulo said. “You are a strong young lady.”
Dressed in a yellow prison jumpsuit, Salustio avoided eye contact with the victim throughout most of Friday’s sentencing. He looked at her only during an apology he made in broken English.
“I want to apologize ... for what I did,” he said. “I want to say I’m sorry for everything.”
He then apologized to his parents, who attended the sentencing.
“I’ve brought shame to them,” he said. “I want to apologize to every single person in this courthouse. I swear to God it’s not going to happen again with anybody.”
Cepparulo sentenced Salustio to no fewer than five years and no more than 20 in state prison, ordered him to pay court costs, attend sexual offender treatment throughout his time in jail and have no contact with the victim. Cepparulo, who ruled Salustio was a “sexually violent predator,” said Salustio would also be deported once he is released from prison.
Unless they put him in solitary, he won’t last the five years.

Yes. It is very common in these cases for the mother of the child to be in total denial over what the boyfriend (it's almost never the biological father) is doing to her daughter.
The woman, you see, is so invested in keeping the man (not being bound to him by marriage) that she will cheerfully sacrifice her own daughter to keep him.
One of the nasty pieces of fallout from women living with men without benefit of a marriage license.
Such men are also far more likely to abuse and kill the woman's children -- which interestingly enough is what many male animals do, in order to maximize their own genetic potential with a new mate. Without a moral code, humans degenerate into wild animals.

You’re right...probably the only way she was able to avoid charges herself. This is one of those things in life that I will never, ever understand. Women who know their boyfriends are raping their children...and do nothing. The men are perverts...I don’t even know a suitable name for what the women are. Monster is the best I can come up with. Pathetic monsters who’d rather have a rapist in their home than no man around. It’s unfathomable.

Your mother lost the “momma” title years ago when she chose sides. It’s time to call her what she really is — an “accomplice”.
This rapist and child molester may be truly sorry for his crimes and not just the consequences thereof, and he may have his heart set on reform. We will leave that for Almighty God to decide? But how often have you thought to yourself, “I never will do that again,” and then in a moment of weakness, you again succumb to that same temptation? We can reserve the judgment of his soul to God, but we must protect any potential victims of his next “moments of weakness.”
Child molesters like this creep have a severely high rate of recidivism, and the judge should know that. And so this sentencing judge failed in his duty to protect society from a known dangerous criminal. His deportation, even if it actually occurs, does not change the duty of the judge; it merely changes the nationality of the criminal’s next innocent victim. We still can hope and pray that this child molester will repent and never again repeat his crime on a new victim, but I’d rather not take that chance.

The other point I’d like to make from the comments here, and comments for all stories like this, is the jailhouse justice aspect. I don’t believe it happens, unless it’s personal or paid for, and I do know that if it were my child, I’d pay in a heartbeat. A few yrs. ago, I read a lengthy piece on the murder of the pedophile “priest”, John Geoghan. He was one of the most liked guys in the sex offenders block at a prison in MA. He made many friends there, rapists and child killers. A multimillion dollar dorm for sex offenders and hard cases so that they can exhibit their sickness and depravity in comfort. The pyscho that murdered Geoghan was not a pedophile, but had been raped by one.
When I was much younger, I mentioned jailhouse justice to my dear uncle, a very wise and worldly man. He told me never to believe for a second unless it was for the reasons I’ve already mentioned. He said that when they go to prison, it’s not condemnation, it’s “Hey man, how did you do it?”. More and more, I believe that’s true. I no longer believe in rehabilitation or parole either. Just brick up the doors and let them rot.

He told me...to my face...that the only reason he never killed anyone was because he knew he’d be killed. Period. So when libs start touting the stupid argument about the death penalty not be a deterrent, I tell them that story. Shuts them up real quick.
