The amount is ridiculous, and someone said the case will be settled out of court for a smaller amount.

Which may be the objective all along. Any settlement by CBS will be spun as "see, they couldn't prove the documents were forgeries, that's why they had to settle!" CBS gets to reform their own image, along with Rather's, and they can claim that the "nominal" settlement amount simply made good business sense, to play both sides against the middle.

How could someone like cBS not see those docs were faked? All their attornies would have to do is point out that it was typed on a Word doc, hence the “th”? I learned how to type on my mom’s Smith Corona, and I know what the type style looks like.

No I wouldn’t settle for one thin dime, but then again I’m very stubborn. Of course that’s just me.
