Nope. I mean we keep doing as ‘Western Civilization’ claimes is ‘the way’ as if Iran is akin to any European country.
Since 1979, we’ve attempted to deal with Middle East dictators, thugs, zealots as if they are Euroweenies.
They aren’t. They laugh at us. They only respect one thing, and one thing only. Power, and the resolve to use it.
Everything bin Laden has said, and done, for just one example, is based wholly on our failure to respond to Iran’s Act Of War in 1979.
If we won’t go to war, with a congressional authorization for such, over one of our embassies being taken hostage....what do they have to fear from us?

Shi'ite theology has an apocalyptic end view of life on this planet. If they provoke the nuclear holocaust it may well be as a desired goal. Their rationale (if one can apply that western term) is that if everyone on the planet dies ...great! Infidels, and bad (i.e. non-Shi'ite) Muslims will all die. No problem to a Shi'ite. Of course they realize that they'll all die too, but as holy martyrs. You see, these inferior Muslims and infidels of every stripe will serve the Shi'ites as slaves for all eternity in Firdous the Shi'ite Muslim Heaven of perpetual sensual delight.
They hold that by wiping out all life on Earth, they are helping Allah finally get it right by re-creating a Shi'ite Universe, which is what Allah really wants in the first place.
