Republican candidate Fred Thompson maintains that, if he were running the country, he would deny Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad entry into the United States.
According to UN Headquarters Agreement of 1947, the US "shall not impose any impediments to transit," obligating the US to allow representatives of UN members, or those invited on "official business," to visit the UN. However, the government may bar entry based on national security grounds, but would have to provide specific allegations for banning Ahmadinejad.
"There are exceptions to every rule. This is our home soil," Thompson asserted on Bill Bennett's "Morning in America" talk radio show Monday morning, adding, "I wouldn't mind a little controversy at the United Nations."
Ahmadinejad -- who arrived in New York Sunday -- is to speak at Columbia University Monday. Thompson criticized the school's decision, claiming it shows a "double-standard" because, he says the university does not allow ROTC on campus.
"It's supposed to be a place of diversity and controversy and things of that nature ... but they're giving rank hypocrisy a bad name," Thompson said.

"It's supposed to be a place of diversity and controversy and things of that nature ... but they're giving rank hypocrisy a bad name," Thompson said. Thompson ground game may be lacking, but his air attacks are winning huge.

That would require two things: first, Hitlerly taking a question; second, a reporter actually asking Hitlerly a question.

Fred Thompson is head and shoulders above the rest of the likely nominees of each party, both in stature and principles.

Heaven forbid that two Republicans share the same view on something!

“No, I did!”

Heaven forbid that two Republicans share the same view on something! I said it first! No, I did! No, I did! Thhbbbttt! Note also that our friendly Hunter supporter here neglects to specify what "it" is so that anyone can actually verify her claim.

I wish more candidates would come out against Columbia University. I guess I should just be thankful Hillary didn’t stop by for a photo op. That’s is the crowd who will be voting for her.

You see, that's exactly why I don't need a "position" paper with 12 points on every position from FRed. FRed just "gets it", it's not rhetoric, it's not pandering, it's not something he just discovered, he didn't just have an epiphany...he really does "get it", and this is him, bared naked for all the world to see. He's laying it all on line, by being himself, and not morphing into the "perfect candidate" image, like the others have been doing. I am more enthused and motivated by him now, than ever.

Who?"
The guy who came in 3rd on a recent FR poll of about 10,000 votes, losing out to Ron Paul and Fred Thompson.
