SAN FRANCISCO, September 25, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The Folsom Street Fair, a gay parade which has for years included full nudity and sex acts on public streets is set to take place again this year on September 30 with city approval, partial public funding and sponsorship by Miller Brewing Company. This year several Christian and pro-family groups have called for public scrutiny into the event as the ad for the event is a mockery of Christ's Last Supper.
The ad portrays Christ and His disciples as half-naked homosexual sadomasochists with the bread and wine representing Christ's broken body and blood replaced with sadomasochistic sex toys.
"The most unimaginable and vile acts of debauchery are commonplace during the fair," said Matt Barber, Policy Director for Cultural Issues with Concerned Women for America (CWA). "Senator Larry Craig was arrested and driven out of the Senate for allegedly soliciting public 'gay' sex, yet during this event the city of San Francisco suspends the law and allows 'gay' men and women to parade the streets fully nude, many having sex - even group orgies - in broad daylight, while taxpayer funded police officers look on and do absolutely nothing."
Catholic League president Bill Donohue focussed his attention on getting Miller to act on the anti-Christian ad. "There are several sponsors to this street fair, but most are local and represent niche markets; Miller is the only national household sponsor," said Donohue. "Furthermore, Miller has a record of acceding to requests from various segments of the population that have objected to certain ads: it has bowed to the wishes of Muslims, African-American clergy, lawyers and feminists by pulling ads deemed offensive. Surely it will do the same in this instance: the ad, like the event, is morally depraved. Indeed, it is the kind of ad that only the enemies of Christians would entertain."
"We have contacted Miller Brewing and expect that they will cooperate and do what is ethically right," he added.
Stephen Bennett, a former homosexual who runs a ministry for those struggling to overcome same-sex attraction disorder challenged mainstream gay groups to condemn the vile anti-Christian display. "I call upon the homosexual Human Rights Campaign, GLAAD, GLSEN, and the Gay and Lesbian Task Force to publicly condemn this blatant mockery of Christians and Christianity by some within their community, and condemn this sick public display of immoral behavior," he said.
Bennett also called on the Miller Brewing Company to pull their endorsement of the event.
Concerned Women for America is calling on California's elected officials - Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Governor Schwarzenegger and Senators Feinstein and Boxer - to publicly condemn "this unprovoked attack against Christ and His followers."

San Fransisco has been a sewer for some time now. They wanted to ban the Blue Angels lately. The City by the Bay is a home to degenerate scum. Personally its Sam Adams, Guiness, or Zeigen Bock. And I will drink Dos Equis Amber. Like my dark beers, must be my German ancestors.
I don’t much care for Miller’s myself, I much prefer Foster’s.
Nor do I. And swill it is.
Well that’s it then, I’m drinking a 12 pack of Budweiser every evening.

But most Christians don't even know this goes on. That's why it is important to put this information out into the public sector. I'm calling the California Senators and whoever will listen and voice my disgust.
My letter to Miller Brewery Company Rep
Dear Julian Green,
I’ve seen a lot of disturbing stuff in my days -— I’ve not had a sheltered existence -— but this marketing of sadomasochism via a mock-up of Christian themes is really one for Nightmare City.
It sure takes my appetite away. And speaking of appetite ——that’s something that should concern you.
It is particularly distressing that Miller Brewing, which I always thought to be a pretty well-centered, normal American beverage business, sees sponsoring these Jesus-baiting Sadomasochism enthusiasts as just another commercial opportunity.
Hey, I’m in favor of beer and likewise in favor of commercial opportunities, but this is offensive. It it could cost you.
Please see that this obvious take-off on Jesus and the Apostles gets canned forever.
Please take your money elsewhere. Or we will.

Honestly, I wouldn't have recognized the majority of items on the table as what they are described as - and the people at the table - well, they're not much different than gay parade attendees. However, the symbolic slam on Christian symbolism and Christ Himself... can't be missed.

Yeah, disgusting, repulsive, perverse, and so forth. Actually, I have no problem with the people of San Fransisco turning their city into Soddom or Gommorrah. My problem is when they come up here and try and turn my town into their town. In the same way that I don’t care about the perverse doings down there by the bay, my town and its elected officials should be able to ban such activity as they see fit. Yes, we might lose a few perverts who chafe under such rules, but the idea of local governance is critical to liberty, and we all might learn from watching San Fransisco exactly what happens to a community when you let the lunatics run the place.
What really disgusts me is that the same people taking part in this San Fransisco event are telling me that I not only need to accept them as they are, I should promote their lifestyle, and if I refuse, I’m some kind of slope-browed bigot.
This is quite appropriate considering that their beer SUCKS!
1) Was Bartles and Jaymes or Zima low-balling their sponsorhip offer or something?
2) Hmmmm, well the City is beautiful this time of year, so why not have some gay S&M orgies?

Who else is sponsoring this misguided activity?
Some of those names are pretty funny, actually. Looks like Miller is the only "mainstream" sponsor, unless some of those other businesses are just not in FL.
Yup. I’ve enjoyed cold Miller beers for years. That is coming to an abrupt stop. From here on out, I’m sticking with German imports and Guinness. (I can’t stand Budweiser and Coors isn’t even beer.)
