Question to all Freepers

Posted on 09/25/2007 6:46:59 PM PDT by Former Fetus

A year or two, and a PC, ago I read in Free Republic about this website where I could check if a story in an e-mail was fact or urband legend. Unfortunately, after changing PCs, I lost the link to that site. I have wished over and over I had saved that info when I changed PCs. Finally, I've decided to ask the same people who gave me the information at least a year ago. Freepers, do y'all know the website I'm talking about? How about its address? Thanks.

Another good site I’ve found is mediamythbusters.com.

Snopes.com has a left wing bias on many questions.

Snopes are Arkancide deniers.

Is that a leftward bias or a keen sense of self preservation?

http://www.truthorfiction.com/ isn’t as liberal as snopes.

“I’m curious too. Did they save the gerbil?”

That gerbil has more lives than a cat.

I agree with Conor; Snopes definitely has a liberal bias - their articles “debunking” Hussein Obama’s muslim past speak for themselves.

Well, find me a site that delves into politics and doesn’t get accused of bias. Politics is only one catagory that Snopes covers. For instance, I get emails forwarded from friends and family that are sensational and supposedly true. The first thing I do is take it to snopes for a search. The deadly spiders hiding in returning south american airline commodes comes to mind. Hysterical.

So that's what the story was. By the time it got to me, it was,

"Deadly South Americans hiding in spiders' abodes."
