Here, in Soros Foundations' annual report, is a direct connection to Hansen, along with an admission that "The campaign on Hansen's behalf resulted in a decision by NASA to revisit its media policy."
As is typical, a global warming obsessed media don't find this newsworthy. Think they'd be so disinterested if this smoking gun involved an oil company giving money to a Republican official?
While you ponder, forward to page 143 (emphasis added):
note: The Strategic Opportunities Fund includes grants related to Hurricane Katrina ($1,652,841); media policy ($1,060,000); and politicization of science ($720,000).
Add it all up, and everything the IBD editorial claimed - that a high-ranking official at NASA may have received money from an organization funded by George Soros in order to politicize science -- is actually available in this annual report.

“politicization of science”
Indeed.

Ping me if you find one I've missed.
Hansen is scum, a scientific marxist.
This retard skewed his number to show the 90`s
as the hottest decade ever.
He lied, the real numbers prove it was the 1930`s
He`s a science fraud who should be fired.
He should be prosecuted for using the NASA resources to commit intentional fraud.
Make no mistake, even though he is being un-masked, real economic damages have already occurred because of his academic dishonesty while using his NASA credentials(and I'd bet resources) to coerce governments and pursued people that unless socialism is instituted, the world will burn up.

10 years ago..Hansen was crying about Global cooling...
He is a Hypocrite and a Paid Liar.

BUMP!
And where is a conservative anti-Soros foundation funded by conservatives? Gee. I guess monied conservatives don’t much care. Until they do, it’s tough luck for them, huh?
Before I will give any credibility to a scientist who is making statements that affect public policy, I require proof that no part of their income comes from government sources.
Hansen, the director of the agencys Goddard Institute for Space Studies, received a $250,000 grant from the charitable foundation headed by former Democrat Presidential candidate John Kerrys wife, Teresa Heinz. Subsequent to the Heinz Foundation grant, Hansen publicly endorsed Democrat John Kerry for president in 2004, a political endorsement considered to be highly unusual for a NASA scientist.
But the “scientific consensus” (universally held AND promoted by the MSM of course) is that ANY AGW skeptic is bought and paid for by the greedy coal-and-oil-and-gas energy conspirators (er, corporations....)
So of course, the enviro-AGW extremist-socialist-libral-internationalists (but I repeat myself) are only accusing their legitimate critics of doing what they know themselves are guilty of doing.

Democracy: George Soros is known for funding groups such as MoveOn.org that seek to manipulate public opinion. So why is the billionaires backing of what he believes in problematic? In a word: transparency.
How many people, for instance, know that James Hansen, a man billed as a lonely NASA whistleblower standing up to the mighty U.S. government, was really funded by Soros Open Society Institute, which gave him legal and media advice? Thats right, Hansen was packaged for the media by Soros flagship philanthropy, by as much as $720,000, most likely under the OSIs politicization of science program.
That may have meant that Hansen had media flacks help him get on the evening news to push his agenda and lawyers pressuring officials to let him spout his supposedly censored spiel for weeks in the name of advancing the global warming agenda. Hansen even succeeded, with public pressure from his nightly news performances, in forcing NASA to change its media policies to his advantage. Had Hansens OSI-funding been known, the public might have viewed the whole production differently. The outcome could have been different. Read full editorial here.

Subsequent to the Heinz Foundation grant, Hansen publicly endorsed Democrat John Kerry for president in 2004, a political endorsement considered to be highly unusual for a NASA scientist. He has also been assailed by at least one former NASA colleague. See the 2006 CNS story here.
