She should be charged with perjury, obstruction of justice, and accessory to murder, at the minimum.
Feral dentist.
Truly a case of “Hot Fuzz”
Courts have a tough time with anyone claiming to represnt the wishes of the dead. Think about what the lawyers would do if they could show up on any dead person's behalf?
Sneakers...I have to ask...is the Burgh’s favorite camera friendly counselor, Mr. Ecker on the scene? With such a high profile case I thought of him right away.
PaMom, I sheepishly admit that I don’t know who Mr. Ecker is. But then, I don’t watch the Pittsburgh news channels much. I’ll find out tomorrow at work and let you know though!
I figured the ex had something to do with it,but a Trooper..wow..I know a few of them but not him....from what I heard he was pretty dumb....
Is that scumbag lawyer Ecker going to represent him?
I don’t know GregB. Going to find out. I wasn’t down there when they brought him in, but I guess they had the basement blocked off to everybody except law enforcement when they brought him in the back door of the courthouse. Then they took him over to the jail not too long after that. The vehicle he was in was escorted by several State Trooper vehicles. I was missing all of this as it was happening. Wouldn’t you know. The trial should be interesting.
Thanks...I’ll read back tomorrow. I am guessing this one might be a CourtTv Trial...but who knows...I thought the Donna Moonda one would have been...but it wasn’t. Just from what I have read today, I would hazard a guess that the ‘widow’ might be charged too. It will be interesting.
A stunt like that could lead to you going to prison for false arrest.
Trust me, it's standard procedure in any hardend homicide branch. And it's perfectly legal. I've defended too many dumb suckers who fell for it and spilled thier guts. Once that happens, game over. If they don't, "thank you for your time". To not question the widow in this situation would be cop malpractice. Cops are very smart at this and it's a very effective technique. It's put many a bad guy in jail for a long long time.
Maybe, maybe not. The local (Pittsburgh) news reported tonight that Foley previously had asked another officer to help him kill the victim. Apparently the officer he approached did not report this until now -- possibly because the other officer thought Foley was joking, or possibly because the other officer didn't want to report his "brother."
He doesn't sound very smart. Apparently, he took the dentist out with a knife and the dentist fought back as he could. Not the best plan, IMO.
Your correct. The original smokey bears.
Hey, Indiana finally made headlines on FR! Good news to get this perp off of the speed traps on 286, 119 and 422!
Will he plead a deal and end up in that state mental hospital in Blairsville? What is the name of that?
Took me all day to find out! Foley is being represented by Indiana Attorney Thomas Johnson.
It took you all day???? The attorney representing Foley was named at the press conference and was named in any newspaper article written immediately following the press conference. I guess you don’t work in the records and research department at the courthouse???
Sorry, I missed the press conference except for a few excerpts on the radio. I asked people when I thought about it. Honestly, nobody I talked to seemed to know! LOL! Courthouse employees tend to stay in their offices and work - and not get in the way - when stuff like this is going on. We don’t run out of our offices to gawk. Heck, whenever there’s tv cameras outside, on occasion, I have to ask what their there for. I never pay attention to what trials are coming up.
