Business and social entrepreneurs need to take urgent action to create 80m jobs for young people in the Middle East and north Africa over the next decade to stop them falling prey to extremists, Mohammed Al Gergawi, minister of state for cabinet affairs in the United Arab Emirates, said on Friday.

Mr Al Gergawi told the final day of the Clinton Global Initiative “either we have in the next ten years 80m productive young people…or we have 80m radical extremists in the Middle East.”

Even if this crap is true, is the Arab trying to say that middle eastern men will all be terrorists if they don’t get jobs? I mean... WESTERN CIVILIZATION has had times of famine and pestilence. Western Man has dealt with stagnation and depression... and we did not go jihadi on the world. Is he saying that Arabs are barbaric? Is he saying that they are genetically composed to senseless murder? What kind of message is this?

I had not realized that the muslim physicians that bombed the airport in England were "unemployed"?

Now I understand what compelled them. I had mistakenly thought it had something to do with islum.

Here’s a hint.

Less Koran reading, more education and promotion of enterpenuership.

“..take urgent action to create 80m jobs for young people in the Middle East..”

There is plenty of work available in the ME but apparently it is only the expat who is willing to do it. The indigenous of Saudi, Kuwait, the Emirates and Qatar do not need to work and don’t. There is an entire generation of young Arabs that doesn’t even know how to apply for a job.

No, Arabs are not barbaric. Muslims are.

This link to employment and terrorism is bogus. In the parts of the Philippines where there is no employment and the commies can buy a soldier for $200 and a pair of shoes it makes some sense. However, many of the terrorist and guerilla spawning regions are doing better than that. Still, creating jobs out of dust and arid conditions is not anything more than welfare on a global scale. Besides that, if the people were actually starving they would be too weak to fight: the dangerous neighbors are well fed.

The fellow has a point. Despite the despotic, corrupt rulers of these countries, the kids do need something to do. It is unfortunate that they don’t realize that it is their kin and rulers that are doing this to them. They are conditioned to look outward for the cause of their problems. Many more will die before they come to their senses...on both sides.

Islam does not permit loaning money out at interest. They allow business and you may participate as partner in a business venture, but you cannot borrow or loan money. It prevents the efficent flow of money is a strong disincentive to capitalism and the creation of jobs.

So what do we do? Blame the west and demand their assistance in fixing the structural flaws created by their religion.

So I guess we won't be seeing any new job openings in the Middle East for awhile...

The longterm objective of the war in Iraq, a continuation lg the ‘91 Gulf war, is the creation of jobs.

Economic stability and maturation of the fledgling commercial, financial and industrial Gulf can’t occur till there is stability. This includes stabalizing the wacko segments of the population. This includes inclusion of Israel in local trade.
