Newark, N.J. (AP) -- A town's mayor and his wife surrendered to the FBI on Friday and were charged with diverting campaign funds and taking cash in exchange for aiding a bar owner.

David Delle Donna, mayor of Guttenberg, is the latest of several New Jersey mayors to face charges in recent years in a state plagued by government corruption. Mayors of Asbury Park, Camden, Hoboken and Paterson have been sent to prison. The former longtime mayor of Newark, the state's largest city, is under indictment.

Delle Donna, 49, a Democrat who has been mayor since 2002, and his wife, Anna, 58, were arrested at the FBI office in Newark,

The party was easy to figure. It wasn't in the AP headline, and it was in New Jersey.

“Delle Donna”? He should be arrested for grammatical dissonance (Delle = plural; Donna = singular).

Whew, as long as it wasn't a misdemeanor brought on by taking a dump in an airport rest room.

They'll get through it...

Damnit, Smith, these are just right-wing lies. Everyone knows that the Democrats are the party of the people. If the man diverted public funds, it was to someone who really needed it and because of the love he has for the little people.

And as far as your disrepect of New Jersey,if you're passing through (pronounced "true")... me, if I was you, I would do it late at night and kinda stick to the main roads.

The democrat party in "New Joisey" is a 100% criminal entity. "Joisey" democrats steal non-stop from the moment they step into office, up until incarceration.

Exclusive photo of NJ Democrat Party Caucus discussing how much Hillary will be charged for Joisey's Electoral College votes. Small bills, no larger than 20's. The cash is to be in no sequential order.

The Sopranos was canceled because they couldn’t compete with real-life NJ politicians.

New Jersey and the folks who live there love corruption. They thrive on it. The only people who are not allowed to steal or embezzle are Republicans. When they steal, the people of NJ call it evil, when Dems, steal they call it the natural order.

Oh, and before any of you jump on my case. I am a product of the NJ school system. Ridgewood to be exact!

LOL!

It wouldn’t surprise me if “Delle Donna” were an Ellis Island immigration officer’s misspelling of Italian pronunciation.

My father worked with a Central European man named “Goldberg.” Dad mentioned something about the Jewish holidays one day, and Mr. Goldberg said, “I’m a Catholic.” His father had come through Ellis Island, illiterate, and told the immigration officer his name. “Kerscheezleschnoz,” or something like that with no vowels. After the third try at it, the officer said, “The guy ahead of you was ‘Goldberg.’ I can spell that. Your name is ‘Goldberg,’ too!”

“NJ Mayor Indicted on Corruption Charges”.. but there will be no changes in the way they vote in the Garden State. The people there suffer from BVS. Those suffering from the dreaded “BVS” ( battered voter syndrome ) have no control over their voting. They are told that registering democrat means voting democrat. Since they have gone to New Jersey government schools they can not figure out how to cancel or change their registration. The poor souls, they believe they are not allowed to vote Republican by law.
Losing a mind to BVS is indeed a terrible thing!

Do not become hypersensitive about New Jersey. It's just going through a phase. When most of the state's urban population is incarcerated or other wise disposed of, you can start rebuilding. Camden, Elizabeth, Newark, Atlantic City, and Jersey City? Well, perhaps you folks could sell them to New York or Delaware.

Unfortunately, most people know the New Jersey Turnpike and the Soprano clan and more and more of the Garden State is getting just like that. But look at the bright side, we get lots of very nice New Jersey visitors here who escape to Maryland.

And some of us remember when you had Millicent Fenwick, and Governor Tom Keane, (thought he was going national at one point) both of whom, and many another, spoke the Queen's English, and agriculture was the number 1 business ... why your state was even famous for foxhunting!

Guttenberg Mayor David Delle Donna is the 4th North Jersey Mayor to face corruption charges this month

Prior to his election as mayor, he served for several years as a member of the Town Council, as well as a Trustee of the Board of Education. Although the Mayor oversees all aspects of Town affairs, his focus is public safety. The Mayor is a member of the North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue board, and also serves as Chairman of the Town's Committee on Police.

Mayor Delle Donna works as a supervisor at a heating, ventilation and air conditioning firm, where he is a proud union member.
