VANITY: "Band of Brothers" now on "History"...same week as Ken Burns' "The War"

"Band of Brothers" is airing now (Saturday, 12:30PM Central) on
The History Channel.

Interesting that it should air on the weekend following the
airing of the first four parts of Ken Burns'/PBS's "The War".

Opinions about the relative merits of the two WWII-ear shows are welcome.

Only watched one night of “The War.” Wish I had more time. However, I saw Band of Brothers years ago and that is excellent. I would recommend it to anyone. I keep thinking if they had the media we had today, we would’ve lost The Battle of the Bulge because when one watches BOB, it’s hard to imagine we are ever going to win.

Well WE weren't involved on the Russian Front and D-Day was quite an important event.

This does not mean, in the case of the former, that it's proper to ignore, and in the case of the latter, it's proper to over-expose.

I'm just tired of hearing about the same three operations (D-Day, Market-Garden, Bastogne) and the same damn division (101st Airborne.) Enough.
