I always thought we liberals were supposed to be in favor of free speech, open discussion, the marketplace of ideas, the notion that good ideas can defeat bad ones.

Once again, you got it wrong. In point of fact, liberals epouse ideals they actually abhor in practice. This is only teeny weeny baby bear example.

Ever since she “had some work done”, she seems to be a bit more rational. Could be her much improved physical attractiveness is getting the attention of conservative men and they are wearing off on her.

What makes people tick is too frightening to contemplate. I just like to hear what should be said from who is not an easy target for, say, the Kos crew.

>> You're thinking perhaps of the "Classic Liberal"...

> No, I know what I'm thinking of.

Okay.

... are you thinking of Mario Savio's Berkeley Free Speech Movement of 1964-65? That was a bunch of leftist/liberals. The FSM indirectly boosted Reagan's bid for governor of CA in '66, with his pledge to "clean up the mess in Berkeley". I was a teenager in NJ at the time, so I can't claim first-hand knowledge of it.

I'm not arguing; just curious what you had in mind.

No. Is absurdity your norm?
