My reaction to corn has been migraines.

But my mother gets tingling in her hands and swollen eyelids if she eats corn.

The swelling is not to be taken lightly, I’m sure you realize. Do you keep benadryl or something like that on hand to reduce reactions when you accidentally eat some?

Corn is in so many things these days, especially in the form of high fructose corn syrup.

I have migraines too but I don't know if the corn, oatmeal, banana allergies have anything to do with it. Oatmeal and bananas are pretty easy to avoid but they put corn into so many different things.

Yep, I have antihistamines and my inhaler with me at all times. When the swelling hits I go for the ice cold water and drink it or apply it to where the swelling, itching, hives, welts are at.

The doctor offered me an epi-pen but at the time I turned it down. I keep trying to remember to tell him I changed my mind but I keep forgetting.
