RENO, Nev. (AP) - A group of Hispanic people in Reno have called for a three-day boycott of all businesses in northern Nevada after a federal raid in which 54 suspected illegal workers were arrested. The group of about 60 people also called for a strike by all Hispanic workers on Wednesday, the final day of the boycott, and for a rally and a march for Reno's federal courthouse in support of those arrested. "Huelga! Huelga! Huelga!" the group chanted as it stood and applauded near the end of a meeting Saturday at El Cordero de Dios Assemblies of God Church in Reno. Huelga is Spanish for "strike."

Their arrogance shows no bounds. They are practically daring the government to deport them.

Boldness and arrogance often results in cowardice from one's enemy. Adolf Hitler, at his trial for the 1921 "Beer Hall Putsch", assailed the court, judge and German government as being unfit to judge him. "History will vindicate me", he yelled at the judge. The judge gave him the minimum sentence.

That would pretty much stick a fork in the 1st and 4th Amendments, even if you think the Constitution only applies for legal residents.

On Kitt Peak there is a 2.1 meter telescope. This telescope can make things that are millions of miles away in space seen as though they are only 4 feet away.

Right next to that one is a 4 meter telescope that is almost twice as powerful.

Now if you put the 2.1 meter telescope and put it inside the 4 meter one you STILL COULD NOT SEE MY INTEREST IN THESE GUYS CAUSE.

Forced checking without probable cause would violate the Constitution. But how bout someone asking “Are you proud to be a Mexican citizen? Yes? Do you think you’ll ever become a legal resident of the USA?

Anything other than “I already am.” Yes, no or whatever gets an instant free pair of bracelets.

You actually gave me an interesting thought: remember how the police sometimes catches people who've skipped bail by sending them a notice that they've won the lottery? Why can't ICE do the same? "Contest open to all legal residents," and all that.

And your "free bracelets" comment made me laugh, thanks.

So why would the United States Constitution apply to invaders?

60 people also called for a strike by all Hispanic workers

Now that is a good idea since it is immediate grounds for dismissal/firing

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! Mean old USA actually enforcing its laws! Prejudice! Discrimination! Singling out poor hard-working minorities! Mean, mean, mean! WHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! We’re gonna strike, and act up, and flaunt our foreign flags, and in general throw tantrums, protest, and make lots of noise and threats like the spoiled-@ss brats that we are! We’ll hold our breath until we turn blue unless the mean old USA immediately stopes these “hateful” raids, grovels before our Aztan flags with abject apologies, pays us lots of money in “compensation” for our “anguish” and promises to talk real, real, real nice to us from now on with brown sugar on top!

Feh! Throw all their howling, trouble-making illegal butts the hell out of the USA. Let them hold their “protests” and boycotts back in their own country where they belong!

Big deal. The businesses probably won't even notice it.

There is “probable cause” to check status of protesters simply due to the fact they are protesting the checking of status. Are you saying the Feds are violating the rights of those people whose company gets raided?

I cannot fathom the logic of people who think that a nation and its counties, which want them gone — and not buying our products — would worry about a boycott in which they refuse to..... buy our products!!

What other ethnic groups leaves as offensive an image as Mexicans with their Mexican flags, demands that their language be recognized, violent gangs, and for lots of other privileges? Now they have the nerve to demand we allow them to break our laws.

I agree. It’s a stunning sight I never thought I’d see in America. And the fact that we are rolling over and taking it really shakes my image of America being the home of the brave. We don’t seem to believe in much as a people.

This is a new kind of immigrant who arrives in huge numbers with his hand out and his nations flag in the other hand. They demand we speak the language of their conquerors.

No one I know personally supports this yet here in LA our entire City Council supports this invasion along with our mayor and our governor and our senators and, our President. We are being sold out. Invaded. Colonized. And made to pay for the privilege.

Regards.
