New Fred Thompson Video on Gay Marriage: "So Be It"

If the government had the power to grant rights then our rights came from government and not from our creator/nature. A government borne of the people, only having those powers that the people gave it and no others, all other powers being reserved is the basic principle of our government. That is not semantics.

We did not fight against the tyranny of england and work so hard to create a form of government that restrained the power of government only to give all of the power of tyranny to individual states. A state constitution is a positive grant of powers meaning that States have no powers not enumerated in their respective constitutions. That was the purpose of state constitutions.
