Listen up, Virginians! Draft General Pace NOW! He’s one of the best of your best.

I like Pace so much, and detest Webb so much, that I’ll vote twice for Pace (hey, the state is now run by a Democrat so voting twice would be legal. Besides, I’d have to fight off all the illegals to get to the voting booth).

“For Virginia, we’ll set a new PACE”

“PACE, a new face for Virginia”

“At last a Virginia senator we can be proud of”.

“If what George Allen said was enough to make him lose, won’t General Pace’s statements about homosexuality make him unnaceptable to Virginians?”

General Pace established his position without being a politician. Is he electable with his position? I hope the reply will not be that the people of Virginia have become so incredibly tolerant of sodomy and sodomites.

I would believe it if someone were to tell me that the Virginia suburbs of D.C. were so “sodomized” (excuse me), but I have a problem believing southern and western Virginia have been so affected. Am I so misinformed?

I can only conclude after the last election that Virginia is much more politically correct than I thought. I have also concluded in the last year that a statement that is thought to be offensive to homosexuals is not acceptable to most U.S. voters, even in red-states.

Suince Warner is retiring, he’ll be the senior Senator no matter what.

What is the residency requirement to vote in VA? Anybody?

If Pete Pace runs for senate, I'd tow a camp trailer in and stay the requisit time to be a "resident"! If the Dems can play that way, why not the conservatives?

Warner is supporting Davis? Davis is an idiot and vicious. How could the head of the NRCC be so stupid as to be so insulting towards the country’s largest state, it’s Republicans, and its volunteers. It would almost be worth it to see him lose.

If you are correct, then we are finished as a nation and our children are in great danger.

Without a doubt WAPO would target him as they did Allen. It would be their personal cause.

Unlike Allen, Pace has a military rank that would actually inoculate him to a degree in Virginia. WAPO can attack, but Virginians have a soft spot for the military. Don’t assume they’d side with WAPO.

Consider, also, that Hillary would be on the ticket.

Allen barely lost his election after running a terrible campaign. Even after “macaca” he was leading, until he started using a novel to attack his opponent.

Should Pace run a good campaign, and Warner have the drag of Hillary in a presidential year, it would be close but he could win.

Warner sabotaged North when he ran in Virginia. He prefers RINO’s or at the very least people more loyal to the establishment than to the conservative cause. He had him hand picked to run. Because of that, some conservatives have been trying to look elsewhere for a primary challenge. This is why people fear the seat lost. RINO’s & establishment vs conservatives in a bloody primary battle won’t provide the unity needed to take down a popular Democrat in Virginia. Virginia is not South Carolina.

IMO, this is why people are trying to draft Pace to run so as to neutralize the candidates of the left and right in the primary from causing a civil war (of which Warner would involve himself even if it cost the seat) and because he has the “gravitas” (hate that word) and military background to compete against the Dem.

Like I said, I don’t know his politics. Everyone’s in love with his uniform, haven’t heard specifics yet. I think he’d be better then davis or the Dem though...and have a chance to prevent the dems from the pickup.

Good Lord! What possessed you to move from NC to whacky CA? lol! I’ve lived here all my life and it is sad to see what this state has come to. Although, I live in the central valley and we are pretty conservative here. But it is embarrassing to be from CA sometimes! I’m looking to visit NC as a traveling nurse in a year or so. If you don’t mind, give me your opinion (at your convenience) where the friendliest areas are!
And I agree General Pace would make me think about VA too! He’s one of the few with integrity and honor!
Thanks! And welcome to CA! There are a lot of really great people here (you just never hear about them!) :)

George Allen didn't lose because of what he said.

He lost because of how his campaign responded, the fact that he'd been targeted long before that, and the fact that The Washington Post ran well over 300 articles on the word macaca.

And, after almost a year with Senator Hothead, a lot of Virginians are waking up and saying, what the #$%( did we do?

Not really. If internal polls had shown him leading you would never have seen the "Webb writes porn" attack. But sadly, it was all they had left.

Really.

Because I remember polling showing him stablizing and slightly recovering until that stunt. As I don’t have internal polling data...I’m going to have to go with what I did have at my disposal that indicates other than what you alledge.

I’m perfectly willing to consider otherwise, if you can provide that internal polling date or a quote from Allen himself saying such.

Yes. Really.

Don’t take my word for it since I’m here in Virginia and was closely connected to the campaign.

But thanks for playing.

I like the Southern part of the state - less “Yankee” invasion, although I’m given to understand from my Carolina friends at LGF that they’re infiltrating.

Fayetteville, Goldsboro, just about anywhere outside Charlotte, Raleigh/Durham and Ashville. There’s a NC ping group that might be able to provide better info. Don’t miss the Outer Banks.

Why did I move to Cali? Family moved here after Dad retired from the Air Force. Went to New York then New Orleans and ended up back here because ex-husband wanted to live here. BIIIIIG mistake. Trying to get home but may have to wait a few years.
