Democrats Have Opened Pandora's Box with "Phony Soldiers" Smear
Rush Limbaugh Website ^ | October 4, 2007 from October 3rd show | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 10/05/2007 1:29:00 AM PDT by Caipirabob

From the end of the transcript: Would it be that it's suddenly fashionable to be or claim to be pro-military? I don't think this is what the far left had in mind. The far left, the kooks, the lunatic fringe, can't be happy hearing these elected officials and these presidential candidates, not only say that there's no way they can get the troops out of Iraq by the end of their first term, now they're out there talking up the troops, talking up the military, trying to make themselves sound so patriotic.

This is not what they had in mind when they started this. After the truth prevails in this situation, they're going to be left in a position where it will be harder for them to pull off any Petraeus Betray Us type attacks because they'll be going back and forth.

You can call Petraeus, when he sits in front of you, a liar. You can question his authenticity; you can question his legitimacy, as opposed to just being a puppet for Bush. Then you can't come out and start praising Petraeus and people like him and go back to once again ripping them.

All of this is happening under a great spotlight, a great amount of sunshine, which is something I don't think they intended.

I was thinking, wouldn't it be a great time, right now, to bring General Petreaus back to Washington and give him a big, fat, shiny medal and commendation?

For that matter, wouldn't it be a great time to bring loads of heroic soldiers before the House and Senate for the same high praise?

Also, a highly touted visit at the White House where the President can praise these heroes for their success on waging a war of liberation and freedom in Iraq?

I think right now is an ideal time for a massive "Thank you".

Oh, and Rush Limbaugh should be invited to pin on the medals...

And I want extreme closeups done on all the leftist America-haters like Reid in the Senate and Pelosi in the House and others. For entertainment value.

When Bill Clinton hears of the reference to ‘Pandora’s Box’, he’ll assume there is a new intern in town.

Starting the Censure proceedings against Senators Durbin, Kerry, Kennedy, Congressman Murtha and others who demeaned our military and called them Nazis and “murderers in cold blood” and rapists would be a good start.

“would it be that it’s suddenly fashionable to be pro-military?

the left has always been pro-military; pro-viet cong, pro-soviet military, pro-insurgent, pro-leftist guerillas...

He’s still hopeing to ‘change the tone’ in Washington.

You know, ‘compassionate conservatism’ and all that.

Anyone have any up-to-date ratings info on Limbaugh?

All I could find is this, which shows he has lost listeners since 2001, but it stops in 2006.

This incident (attacking Rush Limbaugh on the trumped up charges that he doesn’t support the troops) is a joke. It only shows how much the main stream media is a puppet of the demoncraps. It will slowly backfire and make the demoncraps and their puppets look like effin fools.

Accusing Rush of attacking the troops is like saying that Jesus is mean.

Accusing Rush of attacking the troops is like saying that water isn’t wet enough.

Accusing Rush of attacking the troops is like saying that Ronald Reagan liked communism.

Accusing Rush of attacking the troops is like saying that Hollywood represents main stream America.

Accusing Rush of attacking the troops is like saying that Hillary Clinton is a warm and caring individual.

Accusing Rush of attacking the troops is like saying that Bill Clinton is a faithful husband.

Accusing Rush of attacking the troops is like saying that Harry Reid and his sons do not profit from Harry being in the senate.

Accusing Rush of attacking the troops is like saying thaat God doesn’t love you.

Why don’t ONE of them at least get up there and point out how the Dems have called our troops Nazis and baby killers and rapist ..and now they come down on Rush?

Bush is a 25% President.

When it comes to the War on Terror (including Iraq), he's present and accounted for.

When it comes to protecting the borders of the United States, he's Missing in Action (or worse).

When it comes to taking on the Demonrats and all the various home-grown traitors in our country, he's Missing in Action (or worse).

When it comes to controlling domestic spending and preventing the spread of Socialism in America, he's Missing in Action (or worse).

That's 1 out of 4. Not a great record for what could have been a great presidency.

Rush stated yesterday that he has increased audience and has never lost any listeners. His market share grows... he adds more stations yearly.

His veto pen only works against the very worst that the demonrats have been able to come up with since they won congressional majorities. Bush’s absolute inability to veto rino pork and rino socialism for six solid years isn’t corrected by an occasional veto here and there of a demonrat excess.

Bush has six solid years of budgetary blood on his hands. There’s nothing he can do about that now. It’s a matter of historical record. He’ll go down in history as the biggest big-spender of all time.

I don’t doubt that this “controversy” has been good for his ratings, but I was interested in the stats from Nielsen or whomever.

Rarely does an entertainer admit to being less popular. And Rush is an entertainer, so on this point, I will act like an advertiser and not take his word for it.

Based on the dynamics of these things, my guess is that he will get a 10% ratings boost.

Based on the fact that the Dems had to know this too, the chance is that this was really a just a deflection from the Betray Us issue on which they were forced to retreat to the dismay of MorOn.com.

It is actually quite a clever thing. Attacking a right-wing entertainer is nearly the same red meat as attacking the good General for the wacko-left. Since most Americans won’t really bother to pay attention, it only serves to upset people who wouldn’t vote for Dims anyway and is a bit of a bone thrown to the ones who want to take things away from you for the good of society.
