US Death Toll Associated with HPV Vaccine Jumps to 11 with 3779 Adverse Reactions Reported
LifeSiteNews ^ | 10/5/07 | John-Henry Westen

Posted on 10/05/2007 2:46:59 PM PDT by wagglebee

WASHINGTON, DC, October 5, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, yesterday released new documents obtained from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act, detailing a total of as many as eleven deaths related to Merck's HPV vaccine Gardasil.  Those deaths resulted between June 8, 2006 - when the vaccine received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) - and August 2007 when the latest data was available.

The adverse reports coming from the HPV vaccine are increasing daily at an alarming rate.  A LifeSiteNews.com report which scanned a publicly available database of adverse affects coming from the HPV vaccine found 3,137 adverse effects reported on September 28, 2007.  Today the US Government's Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) lists 3,779 adverse effects.  52 of the cases were deemed "life threatening" and 119 required hospitalization.

In one case highlighted by Judicial Watch a 17 year old girl who was vaccinated in June 2007 died the very day she was vaccinated.  According to the report, she "was vaccinated with a first dose of Gardasil…During the evening of the same day, the patient was found unconscious (lifeless) by the mother. Resuscitation was performed by the emergency physician but was unsuccessful.  The patient subsequently died."

Other serious reported side effects associated with Gardasil include paralysis, Bells Palsy, Guillain-Barre Syndrome, and seizures.  Says one report: "Initial and follow-up information has been received from a physician concerning an "otherwise healthy" 13 year old female who was vaccinated with her first and second doses of Gardasil.  Subsequently, the patient experienced…paralysis from the chest down, lesions of the optic nerve…At the time of the report, the patient had not recovered."

"In light of this information, it is disturbing that state and local governments might mandate in any way this vaccine for young girls," said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.  "These adverse reaction reports suggest the vaccine not only causes serious side effects, but might even be fatal."

The toll from the HPV vaccine may be greater still.  Judicial Watch filed its request on August 20, 2007, and received the adverse event reports from the FDA on September, 13 2007, in what the agency described as a "partial response." On October 3, 2007, Judicial Watch filed a new lawsuit against the FDA for its failure to fully respond to Judicial Watch's FOIA request as required by law.

It’s my understanding that this was only tested on girls/women over 20. The Governors that have been thinking about making it mandatory have been thinking about requiring it for 10 year olds. No one knows the long terms effects either. With every vaccine there will be some who have adverse reactions. This vaccine has become so political that you will never read about the deaths or adverse reactions in the MSM.

Another thing that they do not stress is that HPV is not the only cause of cervical cancer. This vaccine will not protect against other cancer triggers or sexually transmitted diseases. It is not a magic bullet. I wish someone would be upfront about this on one of the nightly newscasts. Charlie? Katie? Brian? Are any of you paying attention?

Let me get this straight:

HPV is a sexually transmitted disease.

If a young lady abstains from sex until marraige there is very little chance of contracting this disease.

Making this HPV vaccine mandatory makes the assumption that all the little girls are sexually active.

Next the pill will be mandatory !

What They Don't Tell You about Vaccines May Kill You...

Ever wondered why there are near epidemic levels of strange cancers , autism, MS, Alzheimer's, and autoimmune diseases...

There are NO SAFE LEVELS of mercury, aluminum, monkey viruses, or foreign DNA that should EVER be injected into a human being.

Additionally, every other vaccine that is pushed on children (chicken pox, polio, mumps, measles, etc.) is for a disease which is easily spread through everyday interaction. HPV is ONLY spread through sexual contact, yet they way Merck’s TV ads portray it, you would think it was more common than the cold. Influenza is far more contagious and kills far more people than cervical cancer, but nobody is trying to make the flu vaccine mandatory.

You left out the other side of the equation: the man.
In this day and age, it is extremely unlikely (5% or less) that a male is a virgin when he marries. If your daughter’s husband has just had one prior girlfriend, she could get it.
She could also be raped.

As a libertarian and a microbiology grad student, I’m very conflicted on mandatory vaccines. It pains me that people think this vaccine is for sluts when HPV is practically normal flora and the death penalty is not a suitable punishment for sex.

Thank God the Texas legislature did the right thing in refusing to let our feckless governor force all girls in sixth grade and over to have this shot in order to attend Texas public schools. The entire boondoggle was to pay Merck back for their campaign contributions, and to do that, Gov. Perry was willing to risk the lives of young girls with an unproven drug.
To say we dodged a bullet is a vast understatement. And you’re right. We’ll never read about this narrow escape in the Dallas Morning News or the Houston Chronicle.

You are right, wagglebee. The MSM should not be ignoring this. Not everyone out there is active online like people on FR. Some people only get there information from the media. The media portrays this as perfectly safe and necessary, neither of which is true. It isn’t necessary if you are not sexually active. This is just like the abortion pill which causes abortion up to 8 weeks (do it yourself at home abortions). I read that 1 in every 12 women have a complication. You won’t hear that in the MSM either. The MSM always protects promiscuity and abortion.

I have worked some with vaccines, and there is always a certain number of people/animals that will die from it. It is one of those things that a vaccine maker plans on.

When this was first being proposed, I did the math assuming a “typical” reaction (99.8% with no adverse reaction), and the women who can be expected to have a serious reaction or die from this in Texas are more than die from cervical cancer in the whole US. But they don’t tell you that.

Read about the Monkey Virus in the Polio vaccine.

Or the Mercury and Aluminum in Flu Shots.

HPV is NOT practically normal flora! It is a virus that is spread through sexual contact. Yes, men can infect unsuspecting women. I guess women had better be more discriminating than to subscribe to the sexual mores of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. Sad to say it but the advent of AIDS was helpful in one respect. It reined in some of the women who might have otherwise made unwise decisions. I asked a researcher friend if there is yet a test to determine if a man is infected with HPV. There is an HPV detection test for women using the remainders of the pap test vial. He said that the whole genital area of the man would have to be swabbed and then tested. So I guess women will just have to be very careful, vaccinated or not.

Cervical cancer kills approximately 3700 people a year and this vaccine DOES NOT prevent all cervical cancer, influenza kills nearly 20 times that many. Why a push to mandate the HPV vaccine and not the flu vaccine?

As a microbiology grad student, are you conflicted by the fact that there is no real data regarding the safety or efficacy of the HPV vaccine in prepubescent and pubescent girls?

What’s the alternative? The death penalty for taking the vaccine?

Death is something we all face; we get one per. Nobody is guaranteed a perfect pain and trouble free life.

You shouldn’t have any conflict over this.

There’s no excuse for making it mandatory.

If Merck wants to produce the vaccine and some people of thier own free will want to take it, that’s fine by me. That’s their choice and they may live or die by it, making either decision.

Right now, the death rate and adverse reactions from this vaccine is unacceptable. The Polio vaccine came under fire becuase of one case of polio per million vaccines. This is far worse and I don’t hear the MSM complaining about it.

Funny how the CDC suddenly “got religion” on HPV once there was a semi-effective vaccine. Prior to this, they admitted on their website that condoms didn’t stop the spread of HPV, and thousands of American women died each year as a result of infection, yet there was no big campaign about it (because the truth might have made people choose abstinence rather than condomes!)

Sick for them to sit there and decide what info to distribute to the plebes.

AMEN.

My 9yo is in 4th grade, I will opt out of this "mandate" by Virginia when she enters 6th grade. Not because of any religious issues, which so many claim is why people are against it, but because of health issues.

There have not been enough long term studies on the effects of this drug, especially on young pre-menstruating girls. My daughter is not oging to be one of the guinea pigs.

It seems that many people here seem to forget that the easiest way to detect hpv is through a routine pap smear. According to the CDC’s own website the majority of women who are dying from cervical cancer are not getting a pap smear every year and/or have multiple partners.

Rather than force a vaccine, let’s teach our daughters about how to take care of themselves. A yearly pap smear and breast exam are simple, effective ways for early detection of a broad spectrum of problems with, I daresay, little adverse reactions.

People... be sure that if YOUR government representatives are thinking of demanding this vaccination be mandatory in your area that they have this information...

Even just emailing your representatives this article is a great idea!

Legislators are NOT doctors — they need to leave these decisions to the PEOPLE who are taking them and/or their parents and doctors to discuss and decide!!!

Exactly. No one knows how a prepubescent female will react to this type of vaccine. It is probably still a good vaccine as all vaccines have risk factors. Just don’t make it mandatory, especially for the young ones.
