Iceland has always been a “Left Leaning” country. Their relationship to the USA is one of covenience....translated...MONEY!

I remember in the 60s and 70s some military personnel stationed in Iceland would refer to the Icelanders as "Mojacks". This expression was derived from the words "More Jack".

I don't see any reason to write off an entire region of the planet over one flight magazine article. A understated email reminding Iceland Air that not all its customers are frothing leftists would be considerably more appropriate.
