Graeme Frost, who gave the democrat rebuttal to George Bushs reasons for vetoing the SCHIP Bill, is a middle school student at the exclusive$20,000 per year Park School in Baltimore, MD.
Graeme was in a severe car accident three years ago, and received care paid for by the government program known as SCHIP-(State Children's Health Insurance Program)
"I was in a coma for a week and couldn't eat or stand up or even talk. My sister was even worse," Graeme wrote. "My parents work really hard and always make sure my sister and I have everything we need, but we can't afford private health insurance."
His sister Gemma, also severely injured in the accident, attended the same school prior to the accident meaning the family was able to come up with nearly $40,000 per year for tuition for these 2 grade schoolers. Confirmation both attended Park found here using edit-"find on this page"-Gemma. It will take you to an article in the schools newspaper about a fundraiser for Gemma class of 16, and Graeme class of 13.
Here are photos of the school's 44,000 square foot Wyman Arts Center: two galleries, an outdoor ampitheater, Meyerhoff Theater, Macks-Fidler Black Box Theater, practice rooms, rehearsal space, and ceramics, 3-D sculpture, woodworking, jewelry, painting, photography, digital graphics studios, recording studio, and keyboard lab.
In a Baltimore Sun article the family claims to be raising their four children on combined income of about $45,000 a year. "Bonnie Frost works for a medical publishing firm; her husband, Halsey, is a woodworker. They are raising their four children on combined income of about $45,000 a year. Neither gets health insurance through work."
What the article does not mention is that Halsey Frost has owned his own company "Frostworks",since this marriage announcement in the NY Times in 1992 so he chooses to not give himself insurance. He also employed his wife as "bookkeeper and operations management" prior to her recent 2007 hire at the "medical publishing firm". As her employer, he apparently denied her health insurance as well.
His company, Frostworks, is located at 3701 E BALTIMORE ST. A building that was purchased for $160,000 in 1999. The buildings owner is listed as DIVERSIFIED INDUSTRIAL DESIGN CENTER, LLC whose mailing address is listed as 104 S Collington Ave which is the Frost's home. The commercial property he owns is also listed as the business address for another company called Reillys Designs which leads to the question of whether rental income is included in the above mentioned salary total
The current market value of their improved 3,040 SF home at 104 S Collington Ave is unknown but 113 S COLLINGTON AVE, also an end unit, sold for $485,000 this past March and it was only 2,060 SF. A photo taken in the family's kitchen shows what appears to be a recent remodeling job with granite counter tops and glass front cabinets
One has to wonder that if time and money can be found to remodel a home, send kids to exclusive private schools, purchase commercial property and run your own business... maybe money can be found for other things...maybe Dad should drop his woodworking hobby and get a real job that offers health insurance rather than making people like me (also with 4 kids in a 600sf smaller house and tuition $16,000 less per kid and no commercial property ownership) pay for it in my taxes.
Check this one out TX.

Ping to the Savage Nation
Twenty years ago...the national party’s and the media could have been secure in putting out a message that was basically bogus. The public wasn’t smart enough, and we didn’t have to the tools to chase down a story.
Go look at the timeline. How long did it take to dismantle this story? Less than 24 hours? The Rather story on GW...72 hours to hit the internet, and another 24 hours to hit the major networks (well...Fox first and then a week later for the other networks).
What you are looking at is a powerful use of the internet to connect the dots and have people chase down certain aspects of a story. We can have some story start out of Provo, Utah...and FreeRepublic can have five or six guys there in town checking out facts and asking the right questions. Within 24 hours...a huge story can be corrected or dumped because of the power of the internet. The national media? Worthless from this point on.
LOL, the scumbag Democrats nailed again.
It’s no so much that they constantly lie - - that’s what Democrats DO - - it’s that they are so shameless about it.
Always so shameless....
This just frosts me to no end. I’ve raised three kids in an 1953 ranch house with 1800 sq ft. We’ve sent our kids to public schools and have never been able to afford a remodel in California. Our kitchen is stuck in a 1965 time warp and probably will be forever. My wife and I have always been careful to make sure we had insurance coverage, including the four years I was self-employed.
The thought of me and other Freepers paying for these bastards’ health care when they are forking over $40k per year for a private school really makes me sick. This is yet another example of the many evils of socialism.
Did you do the research? Wow and kudos to you if you did. Great job.
I’ll email this out to the papers...
Needs to be sent to the conservative radio hosts too.
And now we have “phony” kids! Next?
Thanks-it wasn’t like finding Dan Rather’s fake “th” but hopefully those with the juice can get this out there.
The BS media line that he could not get health insurance from “work” ...when he owns his own company... is a great example of how the media lies not by telling you things that aren’t true, but by simply not telling you things. I know some commented on the Park school thing already, but to discover that his sister went to the 20k a year school too is nuts.
Hmmmmmm, now I wonder where the other two kids go to school?

BUSH HATES KIDS!
Fantastic work. Kudos.
A Mom named Randy? That has to hurt somewhere..
My thoughts too!
I haven't been keeping up with the news the last few days, so this is all new to me. I did know about Bush's veto, but didn't know about them using this kid for this. Even if I had known, I don't think I would have thought about trying to find info on them. Once again, great job!

But I thought this SCHIP Bill was "for the childrun"? You mean it wasn't?
Can't wait to read more about this on page A1 of the Washington comPost tomorrow morning.
Good one! You do realize that you will be receiving reprimands from Harkin and Reid now, don't you? Also, be on the lookout for the re-education camp bus coming down your street.

In a field one summer's day a Grasshopper was hopping about, chirping and singing to its heart's content. An Ant passed by, bearing along with great toil an ear of corn he was taking to the nest. "Why not come and chat with me," said the Grasshopper, "instead of toiling and moiling in that way?" "I am helping to lay up food for the winter," said the Ant, "and recommend you to do the same." "Why bother about winter?" said the Grasshopper; we have got plenty of food at present." But the Ant went on its way and continued its toil. When the winter came the Grasshopper found itself dying of hunger, while it saw the ants distributing, every day, corn and grain from the stores they had collected in the summer. Then the Grasshopper knew... It is best to prepare for the days of necessity. |
In the modern day version the Grasshopper has figured out how to get government to take from the Ant.
Yes. I’d like to here this on Rush on Monday morning. Then it will be known by millions.
Do we dare say it???
Phony poor kid.
the veto on this was a right thing to do, not only for the amount that the bill was asking for and for the people that would have the coverage...but for this very obvious reason.
This should not be a federal program. It should be a state program. ergo the S in SCHIP.

Also another example of the many evils of discarding Constitutional constraints on Congress.
Bump To The Top!
Reid and Pelosi at it again...
according to the Baltimore Sun article it was Reid’s office that contacted the boy. The Senate staffers wrote his script, so they werent even his own thoughts. Reid describes having the boy give the prepared speech as having
a “real heavy weight”...ok all groan with me in unison.
Then theres this....
“The Frosts came into contact with Pelosi’s office through Families USA, an advocacy group that supports the expansion of CHIP.”
Will someone please get Harry and Nancy a room already?
lies by ommission are still LIES
The media engages in Zogbyism
Goebbels and Stalin would be proud at how well a lie can still be told.
Reminds of a story from the 1990s where a child wrote a letter to the editor complaining about smoking, I think in Spider-Man comics. His dad is the head of a no-smoking advocacy group but the “child” wrote a letter to some medical journal “on his own”.
I think Rush covered it over a week ago.
If they can buy investment real estate, remodel kitchens, and pay 40K tuition for the kids on “45K per year”, I’d say we need a bill to increase funding for IRS audits.

90% of the woodworkers that I have had for tenants over the last 25 years don’t report there true income. One in particular even had two children in private schools That I could not afford. They were on scholarships due to his “low income” . “go figure!”
It helps to have a trust fund.
Someone should ping the IRS to this thread.

I haven’t been following this story on FR - is this the child who does the PSA where he says “We need to get rid of this President”?
I’ve been in shock over this and wondered where the FR comments might be.
PING!
Ah, it was a car accident. Medical Payments Coverage is an option, when you buy car insurance. Did they save money by going without coverage?
I guess this merits an honorary “Freak State” PING. These people DO live in Maryland, after all...
They don't get much play today do they?
Oh the world owes me a living deedle diedle doodle dumb.
Bump to the Top. This needs to be read! Kudos for your detective work. Rat liars, at it again!

The Ant and the Grasshopper
by Jim Quinn
The Original Version
The ant busts his ass in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks he’s a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter the ant is warm and well fed. The grasshopper has no food or shelter so he dies out in the cold.
The New Liberal Version
It starts out the same but when winter comes the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving. CBS, NBC, and ABC show up and show pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to film of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food.
America is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can it be, in a country of such wealth that this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so? Then a representative of the NAAGB (The National Association of Green Bugs) shows up on Night Line and charges the ant with “Green Bias” and makes the case that the grasshopper is the victim of 30 million years of greenism. Kermit the frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper and everybody cries when he sings “It’s Not Easy Being Green.”
Bill and Hillary Clinton make a special guest appearance on the CBS evening news and tell a concerned Dan Rather That they will do everything they can for the grasshopper who has been denied the prosperity he deserves by those who benefited unfairly during the summer, or as Bill refers to it, the “Temperatures Of The 80’s”.
Finally the EEOC drafts the “Economic Equity and Anti-Greenism Act” RECTRO-ACTIVE to the beginning of the summer. The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and having nothing left to pay his Retro-Active taxes, his home is confiscated by the government.
The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the ant’s food while the government house he’s in....which just happens to be the ant’s old house.... crumbles around him since he doesn’t know how to maintain it. The ant has disappeared in the snow. And on the TV; which the grasshopper bought by selling most of the ant’s food, Bill Clinton is standing before a wildly applauding group of Democrats announcing that a new era of “Fairness” has dawned in America.
