JOE BIDEN: ANOTHER SENATE EMBARRASSMENT
Accuracy in Media ^ | 5 October 2007 | By: Cliff Kincaid

Senate Republicans have suffered a lot of embarrassment over the antics of Sen. Larry Craig, a pro-family politician who played footsy with another man in a bathroom. But the Democrats have their own embarrassments, and one of them is presidential candidate Senator Joseph Biden, their leading foreign policy "expert."

Double Talker

His logic was on display on NBC's Meet the Press program, where the long-time Delaware senator, who now chairs the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, was asked by host Tim Russert about changing his position on setting a deadline for pulling U.S. troops out of Iraq. Two years ago he said that setting a deadline for withdrawal would "encourage our enemies to wait us out." Now he says the war must "end now." Biden replied, "Well, I have changed my mind, but I haven't changed my mind in any fundamental way."

Why should the three counties of Delaware get two Senators and a congressman?

"Obvious insult to cave men."

I'm afraid I will be sending the caveman back to his therapist.

And when Sen. Biden (credit due) attempted that kind gesture for Sen. Thurmond, Sen. Hillary Clinton LOUDLY voted against the recess, hoping that the ninety-nine year old Thurmond wouldn’t survive the all night session.

Hillary = pure EVIL!

That would only be true if he had a 100 watt bulb screwed into his head : )

Biden is as dumb as a door jam

When I reflect on genuine leaders of the senate during the past half century, a few democrats come to mind. The one I'd been most impressed with(and disappointed with during his departure) was Daniel Moynihan. He had a command of world history which was amazing. He lived modestly and while I usually disagreed with his ideas applied to the mess which is contemporary America, we had much to gain from his wisdom in many other areas. Of course being an historian in modern society makes you wildly unpopular among circles of power and political elitists.

There is no historical record among the new modern democrats. They reboot the record and start anew every 24 hours.

I hail from Delaware as well.

Your descriptions of our useless Senators had me rolling.

Especially the comment about Tom Carper, who I call “The Unknown Senator”. I am always calling his office and complaining “why does he say one thing and then always does whatever Biden does?”

Last week I reamed both them out over Rush Limbaugh—these two birdbrains both signed Harry Reid’s and Tom Harkin’s dumb letter. Told their staff that you’d think they would have more common sense to go along with this hatchet job.

I also educated their young staff members on the true “phony soldier”==Tom Harkin, who lied about his Vietnam service claiming to be an air combat veteran when he never even flew over Vietnam.

Marcel Marceau of the Senate—what a great description of Tom Carper! I should sent him a pair of white gloves and a black and white striped shirt!

I'm afraid you are right and I'm no admirer of Joe Biden. All I am saying is that intelligencewise, he is the most thoughtful of the current crop of Democrats running for the whitehouse. Yeah, I realize it is sort of like being the most virtuous whore in the cathouse.

Marcel Marceau of the Senate—what a great description of Tom Carper! Need I point out that he now has company from Pennsylvania's own Bob Casey, Jr.?

DE calls itself “Constitution State” even though it was pro-Tory during the Revolution. People in DE really believe in Biden, and they usually vote liberal down the line. it should have never been severed from PA, I suppose.

I guess in fairness to DE people, Biden is a PA native. But maybe DE people would like to rejoin PA.

I think a better idea would be to GIVE Philadelphia to Delaware. PA would be a remarkably civil state without Philadelphia.
