They waited until they had the soil samples to prove it was nuclear.

They were probably tracking a suspect shipment labeled as cement from North Korea. Obviously whatever it was it was surrounded by lots of cement. They tracked its delivery to a suspected nuclear research facility and then took soil samples. Bingo. Now it was a known nuclear material shipment. Send the bombers. The scary part of this whole story is that one of the early leaks also stated this ship stopped in Egypt and Lebanon before it arrived in Syria. No additional confirmation of those stops have appeared.

The Islamic extremists want a world war to accelerate the fulfilling of their prophesies of their end-days. Why would they they fear something they want?

For the same reason they spent billions of dollars on the Russian detection equipment - they intend the destruction of the infidels -which would include us - but planned to be safe themselves.

The leaders of these fanatics who espouse martyrdom only seem to espouse it for others. They send the young and others to go and die for Allah. How many of the leaders have blown themselves up?

Now they know that, not only is their every move known and seen - but they, themselves, are 'blind' - and we can swoop down on them, blow them up and be gone before they know we were there.

I do believe they're scarred you know what. It's the way with bullies/

Israel wanted to catch Syria’s President Asshat with his pants down, and with the goods. Let him think for a few hours that he was just about to join the nuclear club, and then *BLAMMO* !!!

Bingo!

do you mean the ones still in NK who sold chia-head out in connection with the 6-ways and dismantling? I think it is entirely possible that some or even a good bit of the intel that set this whole thing in motion originated in NK.....the process there has become uncharacteristically sweet over the last few months, don’t you think?

And thank God we have Pres. Bush - not Pres. Kerry - at the helm...

Russia had to know the security system sold to Syria and Iran was crap. How could they not?

My thoughts to - Russia may be playing the 'bad cop' - One he*l of a chess game going on out there.

Thank God Kerry isn't president. and we'd best make sure hillary doesn't get in

If they were tracking a high stakes nuclear cargo, why not intercept it on the high seas and not wait until it is unloaded and dispersed.

I believe the destination point was probably the most important objective. Just taking out the cargo and leave the plant that uses the cargo would not stop the program, just slow up the delivery.

President Bush is already reportedly cluing her in on the reasons he’s taking the positions he’s taking, and she’s backing off any serious opposition to his foreign policy actions

I think you are right on this.

The NK techs were MISSILE techs.

Syria had no way to launch the nuke, so NK sold them the missle to do it with. That is what was in the ship we were tracking.

The Israeli’s blew it and the nuke components up and the base it was being stored at. We knew the nuke warhead was there, but it wasn’t a problem without the ability to actually launch it successfully against the US, England, or Israel.

The ship reflagged with South Korea flag once underway.

"All the way across the country and back - and they 'saw' nothing!"

Not accurate. Look at the caption under your own picture. The Syrians *did* spot the Israeli aircraft when the bombs were launched. Syria launched four missiles at the Israeli jets.

Also, Syrian radar correctly tracked the falling fuel tanks into Turkey where the long range fuel tanks were promptly recovered in remote, rural areas.

It's just that the Syrian air defenses failed to defend Syrian territory. They didn't hit anything but the ground.

But it's inaccurate to claim that they were completely blind.

Would have been tough to penetrate Israel's missile defense system. Only way they could have done it would be to hide this missile in a barrage intended to overwhelm the Israeli defense system. Or perhaps it was the new Russian missile that is incredibly fast.

How I think it happened (two planes):

Yellow flight: jamming air defense and even Lebanese cable tv, bombing the three supposed WMD sites.

Green flight: taking out the Deir al Zahr facility, trucks holding warheads from the NK ship, then taking out the facility on the Euphrates at the turkish border, then drop tanks, land, pick up IDF guys holding an evidence functional nuke who borrow a Syrian truck to cross the Turkish border with it.

Thanks for your earlier feedback, Sir. :)

Exactly we are in WWIII or WWIV depending on how one wants to count. What happened is the good guys apparently won an important battle in WWIII in Syria.

And yes those who the person quoted about being in mass panic are probably those on the side of the Islamofascists and they would react to this attack if they knew the details by:

1. blaming Bush as usual.

2. calling the reason for the attack was a lie.

3. blaming Israel as usual.

4. claiming it was a setup and Bush sent the nuclear material to Syria so the Israelis could destroy it in a bomb to fool the public.

You seem to be so fascinated with this as all of us are.

I'm sitting here reading many theories yet no one seems to remember this:

Netanyahu said when the truth about this raid comes out it will shock everyone!

I say it was NO soft target!!! It was huge!!!
