A top-secret report by the U.S. intelligence services says several North Korean scientists were injured in Israel's strike in Syria last month, top Washington Post columnist Jim Hoagland reported in the paper Sunday.

Some two weeks ago, British newspaper The Sunday Times reported that diplomats in North Korea and China believed a number of North Koreans had been killed in the strike, based on reports reaching Asian governments about conversations between Chinese and North Korean officials.

The ship docked on 3 September, and the target was hit on 6 September.

The speed and daring of this attack suggest the target was a time-urgent threat to the survival of Israel.

Perhaps the North Korean shipment was not only uranium for a bunch of dirty bombs, but also included at least one warhead ready to be mounted on a missile.

OK.

The base in Syria is a hardened chem/bio/nuc weapons facility with extensive underground complexes.

The components for a nuclear warhead were provided by the Russians who removed the items from Iraq prior to the liberation of Iraq by coalition forces and stored them in this facility.

We didn’t stop them, even though we watched them do it. We didn’t want to,as the items were safe there.

What was on the ship was a missile capable of carrying a nuclear warhead and getting it to England, France, or even the US.

The IDF got soil samples as proof of the plutonium processing that was going on at the facility, but the ship was carrying a missile, from North Korea.

That is what Lil Kim has been testing (remember????)

We didn’t stop it at sea, because we had nothing we could do about them carrying a missile, even an ICBM. It is not against any treaty to have a missile, as long as it doesn’t have a nuke warhead.

Ah-am-a-nutjob has been frothing at the mouth about attacking the US, with nukes, because the plan was for Syria to fire it, and have us blame Iran. They would have claimed innocence and would have retaliated (which the UN would have supported) because it would be obvious the missile didn’t come from Iran. The whole world was supposed to feel sorry for IRAN and mad at the US for mistakenly attacking IRAN.

As the British would say, the IDF and the US dropped a spanner in the works.

The NK guys were missile techs and we turned them into daisy pushers.

Expect to see some major changes in the tide of the War against terrorism, and in the attitudes of some of the Mideast leaders.

The US Media isn't because it would make President Bush LOOK PRESIDENTIAL and demostrate that the WAR ON TERROR is more than a bumper sticker....

The world Media has been reporting it and much of it has show up on Free Republic threads...... see this:

>> Hoagland said the site of the attack was a plutonium enrichment facility for the Syrian nuclear program.

I have no idea what they hit. (Except that I believe that it had something to do with a nuclear capability of some sort.)

What is gratifying to me is that the collective “we” (probably, Israel) KNEW ABOUT IT, whatever it was.

I sleep better at night believing that our intelligence from Syria (and, hopefully, from Iran) isn’t completely in the dumper.

A top-secret report by the U.S. intelligence services says

Not top secret any more I see. The Slimes direct line into getting these reports seem to still be intact. It really bothers me that these slimeballs hid in the intelligence community continue to leak these reports. These are more dangerous than the Marxists. It give the enemy direct knowledge of what we know.

The NK scientists collateral damage is icing on the cake.

It cannot be said enough, the scientists and technicians should never, ever be collateral damage. They should be the prime targets. Attacking off hours to minimize "collateral" damage makes absolutely no sense. The human capital is the most vulnerable and value part of the whole operation.

Besides, it discourages entrants into the field.

Maj. Gen. Walter Dorenberger, the project lead for the German V2 said the greatest effect of the Anglo-American bombing raid on Peenemunde was that it killed a number of irreplaceable scientists and engineers.

All policy decision-making regarding N. Korea had to go through Condi. In such a capacity, she has to know what kind of operation is in progress, even though it is not necessarily the operational detail or timing.

If she was completely out of loop, it is because Bush and others knew that she would do her best to sabotage the operation.

She and her fellow travelers, not just in State Dept. but in foreign policy community, including the majority of CFR, are major impediment to providing solution to Axis-of-evil problems. They are the ones promoting Bush's diplomatic failures while they do nothing but indefinite appeasement to these players.

If Condi was out of loop as you said, so what? It does not change the fact that she is also the part of the problem. If Bush kicks her out, why is it such a problem except to those who are screwing up the solutions such as Dems, RINO's, and "European intellectuals"?

I agree with you. But in this case there is something else going on. The information is slowly leaching out. Not typical of a State Department leak. I think this info is being placed out there incrementally and intentionally. Most likely for reasons to divert attention from the Hummit sources.

I believe it.

The IDF fighters trained in the Arizona desert this summer. The US supplied the Israelis with IFF codes for the raid. US planes monitored the smoke plumes after the raid, and detected the radiation.

What’s not to believe?

That our sieve-like State Department could keep a secret for months.

Our military? Sure.

Our State Department?

No way.

Remember, 3 different “anonymous” military source leaked that B52 warheads story right around this time. I still think that was psyops. Plus there were B52s in the air around the world during the days surrounding the Israeli raid, talking loudly and openly on the HF frequencies to make sure “the other side” knew they were up there when news of this incident spread.
