What a sad story all around.

Just wondering about the ramifications if the suit goes through and the office wins (unlikely). Could one require a waiver of liability if the police showed up on your doorstep with a warrant? If the office refused to sign, then could entry be denied?

That's a good thought you have, demand they sign a waver before coming on your property, even with a warrant.

The sick thing is I can see this happening someday.
