Americans Against Escalation In Iraq, the major umbrella group organizing activism against the Iraq war, is pushing out an ad later today blasting the GOP '08 frontrunners for their claims about Iraq during yesterday's CNBC debate, and praising Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) as "the only GOP candidate who gets it on Iraq." Take a look:

Just curious. Are these the Libertarian and Independent voters you said were Ron Pauls base? Do you understand the difference between special-interest whackjobs exploiting an issue for publicity and your official campaign not in coordination with or not acknowledging them or accepting their money?
If Move America Forward ran an ad supporting Joseph Lieberman on the war, does that mean Joseph Lieberman is in bed with conservatives and is a sell-out to the Left & agrees with conservatives on all of their issues? No, it just means that Lieberman is still a liberal pro-abortion socialist who just happens to support Bush's policy on the war.

If you read the AP and Reuters wire stories on yesterday's CNBC "debate," you'll find nary a mention of Ron Paul, nor Duncan Hunter nor Tom Tancredo. One would get the impression the only candidates on stage were Fred, Mitt, John and Rude.
Yes, there have been a few feature articles on Dr. Paul in the Washington Post and other papers, but you'd have to look far and wide to find mention of Ron Paul's campaign in wire service reports (or the New York Times, for that matter). You'd have to go to the Internet to learn what his positions are on the issues.
Which could be a reason the Paul campaign is so strong with the Internet community, even if the polls have him stuck in the single digits nationally. Dinosaur media can't get with the times and neither can the polltakers.

The edit history does not say so. It's a conspiracy. The neocon warmongers hijacked this place soon after GWB took office, by the time 9/11 rolled along it was complete, full blown takeover by wartime.

“The NRA supports John Dingell and have ran ads on his behalf, so in the eyes of liberals Dingell is a sell-out.”
Since John Dingell is an excellent defender of the 2nd Amendment it is understandable that the NRA would support him. Since Ron Paul supports a cut and run strategy in Iraq, it is just as understandable that the anti-war crowd would support him.
“Wake me up when the Paul campaign accepts donations from these guys or if the campaign publicly acknowledges or supports their views.”
This is your wakeup call. Ron Paul is the anti-war republican, remember? He done nothing but publically support their views.

If the Freepers had any common sense (they don't) they'd nominate Ron Paul.
I hope the Freeper Party nominates the phony that is Rudy Julieannie, she's George W. Bush part 2.
Rudy has gotten so much play out of doing some interviews and photo-ops after 9/11 but in the general election he would get destroyed for what he REALLY did before, during and after 9/11..

There are folks out there with common sense.

Can someone who is involved with moveon.org, and/or some of the other liberal sites, go and tell them to support, send money to, and get to the primary polls for Ron Paul. He is the only truly anti-war candidate. He also would not start new wars.
------------
I am switching parties to vote for Ron Paul. Democrats don't speak to my sense of social liberties and a conservative fiscal government. Paul fits my view better than anyone.
By the way if you are switching parties you might want to do it soon since some states' cut off time is October of THIS year.

Arbitraging Ron Paul's Online Odds
Robert Murphy
I admit I haven't personally participated in any of this stuff, so I can't speak from experience. But it seems that there are several gambling web sites with often different odds on Ron Paul. With the possibility of shorting a Ron Paul contract on Intrade, one can make a guaranteed profit (assuming the transactions costs aren't too high). Let me give a quick example.
According to this article, there are sites out there that still have 25-to-1 odds against Ron Paul's nomination. (Note: You should be careful that this is indeed for the GOP nomination, not to become president.) That means if you bet $50 on Ron Paul, they would pay you $1300 if he got nominated.
On the other hand, at Intrade right now a Ron Paul contract (which pays $100 to the owner if RP wins the nomination) is selling for around $6. So if you sold 10 of these contracts, you would raise $60. Out of that, you could pocket $10, and use the other $50 to wager on RP at the site offering 25-1 odds.
So if Ron Paul doesn't get the nomination, you're still up that initial $10. If Ron Paul wins it, then you get $1300 from the first website, and you owe $1000 to the people who bought your 10 contracts at Intrade, leaving you with an additional $300 profit.
Obviously there are transactions costs and timing issues, but you get the point. If a site is offering better odds than Intrade, you can short the Intrade Ron Paul contracts and use some of the money to wager on Ron Paul. That's the beauty of Intrade; you can go either way.
Disclaimer: I haven't personally used any of these sites, so I can't vouch for them.

I think its fairly safe to rule out Ron Pauls performance in the debate as the cause.
His performance was actually pretty strong. He got the message across that he wanted, very clearly. And his supporters were very satisfied with it.
Did you notice his fundraising doubled today? That's actually pretty impressive because everyone had such a hangover when they pushed to raise the last million in the last week of the third quarter. Yesterday's debate fired them up again.
I noticed another new site is coming online.
RonPaulSmartMob.com. Interesting use of the Google API so that RP supporters can sign up and enter their location and they can find one another on a customized Google map. Some other interesting RP sites are:
RonPaulDVD.com (download a DVD image to burn directly to DVD-R)
RonPauloween.com - (how to use Halloween to campaign for Dr. Paul)
I thought maybe some of the other campaigns would go hi-tech like this. Especially Fred who showed a lot of promise at being an online guy. Even Romney has kind of a lame website with that overlaid Mitt Romney that appears on the page and wanders around your screen talking to you. I like Romney fine but that was kind of a creepy website feature IMO. I keep thinking that Fred might bring out something similar to Obama's website which really is first-rate stuff for a major candidate. Obama hired some good web talent.
