I hope Gore throws in.

I think it would make for good politics to have two draft candidates running against each other, that would be Thompson vs. Algore.

I’m not saying it will happen but who knows? The Clintons are the Democrat establishment. Because Hillary is far enough ahead in the polls she is already moving back to the “center”—at least the “center” in their orientation—because that is the posture she needs to win the general election.

Clinton thinks she can disregard the left, who continue to criticize her, because in November 2008 the left won’t vote Republican and she will attract swing votes as a “moderate.” Gore would come into the race to the left of Hillary but as a more electable candidate than Obama or Edwards. Gore has already established a grassroots network based on “global warming” with millions of e-mail addresses. The free publicity he has gotten in the last three years is worth millions. If he gets the peace prize Friday his star rises higher.

Of course no Democrat can get nominated or elected without the news media, most of whom get their direction from the New York Times.

Probably too much to ask, but could someone draft him as a third-party alternative? Now wouldn’t that be ironic and sooo delicious. He could do to Hillary what Nader tried to do to him in 2000.

The Gore threads at DU are becoming funnier by the day. They are practically soiling themselves at the prospect of his running. I predict that if he does not announce he is running, after he receives his totally phony Nobel crackerjack prize, they will turn on him in a minute.

Trust me he’ll get the Nobel, too.

Any consideration hinges on the Nobel results tomorrow.
