The United States and governments of the West must use every means available to combat Islamofascist aggression and expansion, both here in the West and in the Middle East. One of the most critical aspects in the war against Islamofascism is the war of ideas. This aspect represents the battle between the Wahhabi, Salafist and radical factions of the Sunni and Shiite sects of Islam and the ideology of inalienable rights as embraced by Western Civilization.
If we in the West are to neutralize the aggressive Islamofascist threat to our way of life we must engage in the war of ideas; we must engage in a campaign of disseminating accurate and honest information about the Western culture to those who least understand our way of life, circumventing those who spread propaganda.
There are several avenues exploited by Islamofascists in the proliferation of the extremist ideology, chief among them is the madrasah. Although the literal translation of madrasah is school, for our purposes we will focus on the madrasahs that engage in the teaching of the Islamic religious dogma.

It’s a war of ideas between conservative vs. liberal democrat/republican.
Correction:
The United States is Not Engaged in the War of bad Ideas by the meek that believe now is the time they will inherit the earth.
Not for a long time yet losers.
We’re damn well engaged in a war of ideas as we’ve always been; and it is our Judeo-Christian values that the radical Islamists and other left-wingers object to.
Radigan’s Raiders ping.
From the article:
“Retired Vice Admiral Scott Redd, head of the National Counterterrorism Center who has a strategic operational role in countering terrorism, said one of the “four pillars” of the US war strategy is the “war of ideas,” but he noted that there is no “home office” for that effort in the United States.
Retired Vice Admiral Mike McConnell, Director of National Intelligence, said the intelligence community does not engage in any battle of ideas against domestically located terrorists or their support nexus unless there is a foreign connection.”
Or if there is, from what we can tell.
However, the West could lose this battle, not by failing to educate Muslims and others in the developing world about the benefits of Western ideals, but by becoming victim to it's own political correctness. We go out of our way to camouflage the fact that the perpetrators of 9-11 were Muslim radicals bent on toppling not only the Trade Center Towers, but Western civilization. We are afraid to even call these Islamic radicals what they in fact are..Islamic fascists, least we be branded as racist or "offend" the sensibilities of Muslims. We are willing to compromise individual rights especially of women, because we don't want to seem critical of sharia law. No human rights groups dare to castigate Iran for brutally hanging 16 year old girls for offenses against Islam, while these same groups criticize capital punishment for serial n murderers and child molesters in the US. We will not allow schools to mention Christmas or any Christian holiday, but have no problem giving Muslim students special times for prayers, having school celebrations of Muslim holidays and buying them foot baths.
If we lose this war it will be due largely to our own political correctness.
