WASHINGTON (CNN) -- With tensions rising between the United States and Turkey over a resolution that labels the World War I-era massacre of Armenians by Turkish forces "genocide," many are asking why the House is debating the resolution now.
(Excerpt) Read more at cnn.com ...
Quinn (at Warroom) was saying that this looked like and effort by the left to cut off supplies to our troops being funneled through Turkey. P*ss off Turkey enough and we loose a serious asset in the Middle East.
You think cnn cares about our troops?
Could it be that there are forces in Congress that are willing to deliberately sabotage the war effort to make President Bush look bad?
The dems are trying to scuttle any chance of turkeys support vs iran.
This is very transparent to me.
You’ve got it. And, there’s no could it be about it - there are those who are willing to do anything to sabotage the war and make President Bush even more of a “lame duck” than he is. There is always the possibility of impeachment (in the minds of the demonrats) if too many of our troops are “sacrificed” once Congress gets the sabotage ball rolling.
Will wonders never cease.
They have been for the last four years. This is just another feather in their cap.
It's just another tactic in their ongoing WOB (war on Bush) campaign, which of course is all part of the broader campaign to elect Hillary.
The timing is odd. It obviously WAS genocide, but why didn’t Congress bring this up 90 years ago and condemn it THEN? The fact that’s it’s popping up now looks like an attempt to alienate us from countries that are helping us. Liberals aren’t doing this to condemn an act as genocide, otherwise they would’ve done so ages ago when it happened, if they really cared. They’re doing it as a way to undermine the military and try and lose the war since the cut and run bills all got defeated.
ditto
HIGH TREASON,
with GREAT and deliberate malice aforethought
I noticed in the video clip even the evil pelosi (they don't deserve capitols) had a hard time giving her bogus rationale...
These people are evil beyond imagination.
Exactly. The Dems are trying to make it more difficult for Bush to win the war on terror.
It doesn't 'look" like it - it is exactly that - deliberate and with malice aforethought - DEEP TREASON -
Democrats, thy name is EVIL"

I’ve asked this before but didn’t get a clear answer and I’m not sure of where to look to find the answer. Aren’t there some republicans that co-sponsored this resolution? I’m ready to start bludgeoning some friends over the head with this issue, it seems so clear to me, but I want to really get what it’s all about.
I too want the names and votes - there must be a list???
Anyone?
Exactly they believe now that Saddam with his genocide was a “Necessary Evil” and many would like to have seen him reinstated... Such hypocrisy... too many Americans are hypnotized by the left....
Exaclty Why didn’t Billy Boy condemn it and make congress act on it in his administration. Now only when it can cause animosity in the region and fuel conflict with the Kurds in Iraq do the Dems speak out...
So playing political games when the lives of our brave men and women are in harms way becomes the standard Democrat Tactic... When will the GOP stand up to this and defend our troops...
i.e., If one U.S. servicemen dies due to fighting between the Turks and the Kurds that will be ignited by this political rhetoric then everyone of the those that supported this bill is guilty of MURDER.
Simple answer is this can wait... back burner it...
IT DOES MORE HARM (potentially) THEN GOOD.
WHY NOW...
When a city has grown so overlarge and crowded that it is in immediate danger of collapse ... when food and clean water flow into the city at a rate just sufficient to feed every mouth, and every hand must work constantly to keep it that way ... when all transportation is involved in moving vital supplies, and none is left over to move people out of the city should the need arise ... then it is that Crazy Eddie leads the movers of garbage out on strike for better working conditions."
Crazy Eddie is a little like Murphy, on steroids. Crazy Eddie "Always he does the wrong thing for excellent reasons.", and does them at the worst possible time.
Right, so I’m with Mainiac7, what’s the vote? Were any Rs on board with the dims?
I can’t find the committee vote it passed 27 - 21 in committee it sounds like it is on party lines. Pelosi is yet to sked it for full house vote.
The resolution is valid and is supported by both (R) and (D) but it is the timing...
It is the more harm then good clause. If you are politically on the side of defeat in Iraq and you force a vote of this particular legislation you are basically stirring the poop pot. Turkey has already protested the legislation if it goes to vote in the House no Republicans will support it but the Dem Caucus can pass it and may cause events in northern Iraq to spiral out of control they know this and still do it anyway? I just don’t get it... Its sort of like a Senator confiding to some KGB agents of the Soviet Union during the Cold War that he will continue to pressure the U.S. President in order to undermine the Presidents requests to build up the armed forces so if they would just stick it out a little longer our country would fold first..
Sound familiar?
yes, and it’s a really redundant question at this point don’t you think? They’ve proven it over and over again.
Considering that this all took place during the Ottoman Empire, this might be what is intended. The Ottomans have not been in power for almost ninety years. What good is this resolution by Congress other than to cause problems for President Bush.
Tom Santos
Take heed my brethren...we no longer have a two party system in America, we have the godless world Communist machine and their operatives vs Freedom loving people the world over.
BS This was planned..
So we agree that if this resolution passes the house and Turkey makes some random incursions into the Kurdish north which causes the death of any U.S. servicemen then every congressmen who voted AYE on this resolution will face murder charges Right?
