Please, sir - Gore's got warming wrong [Brits at war with Gore]

Please, sir - Gore's got warming wrong

THE tormentors of Al Gore, who last week won a legal victory against his film, An Inconvenient Truth, are to step up their battle by sending British secondary schools a documentary attacking the science of global warming.

Channel 4’s The Great Global Warming Swindle has become one of the most notorious documentaries of the year, attracting complaints from dozens of scientists and viewers.

This weekend, however, the campaigners behind the High Court case said they planned to send copies to 3,400 secondary schools “to counter Gore’s flagrant propaganda”.

Gore is a joint winner of the Nobel peace prize for his efforts to educate the world about climate change. An Inconvenient Truth has also won two Oscars.

The distribution of The Great Global Warming Swindle is being funded by Viscount Monckton, who is part of a counter-campaign to undermine the scientific consensus on climate change.

Monckton was one of the backers of Stewart Dimmock, the Kent lorry driver and school governor who took the government to court for sending copies of Gore’s film to schools.

The two are connected through the New party, a right-wing group whose manifesto was written by Monckton and of which Dimmock is a member.

Last week Mr Justice Burton ruled that, although it was broadly correct, An Inconvenient Truth contained at least nine scientific errors and said ministers must send new guidance to teachers before it was screened. The judge said, for example, that Gore was wrong to suggest polar bears were already drowning due to ice melting when this was just a prediction.

“That ruling was a fantastic victory,” said Monckton, a former Downing Street adviser to Baroness Thatcher. “What we want to do now is send schools material reflecting an alternative point of view so that pupils can make their own minds up.”

Dimmock was awarded only two-thirds of his costs and is understood to have a bill of more than £60,000. Monckton confirmed that he was among his “backers” but refused to confirm if he had financed the case.

Monckton has obtained funding from a right-wing Washington think tank, the Science and Public Policy Institute (SPPI), to create a second film that will also be sent to schools. Entitled Apocalypse No, it parodies Gore, showing Monckton presenting a slide show in a vitriolic attack on climate change science.

Bob Ferguson, president of the SPPI, said: “We have filmed Christopher [Monckton] making a presentation to the Cambridge University Union . . . It could be sent out quite soon. We want to inform the public and policy makers that there are different views on climate change.”

Monckton has also won support from the maker of The Great Global Warming Swindle.

Martin Durkin, managing director of WAG TV, said he would be delighted for his film to go to schools. “I have become a proselytiser against the so-called consensus on climate change . . . people can decide for themselves,” he said.

Environmentalists say many questions remain about Durkin’s film. Channel 4 said that two of the scientists who took part have complained that the editing gave a misleading impression of critical data and their own viewpoints. Ofcom, which regulates broadcast media, is examining other complaints from scientists.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which shared the Nobel prize with Gore, is preparing a Synthesis Report. Rajendra Pachauri, chairman of the IPCC, said the report would show that the earth faced a catastrophic temperature rise within the next century.

George Monbiot, an environmentalist and critic of Monckton, said: “He is trying to take on the global scientific establishment on the strength of a classics degree from Cambridge.”

Al Gore: Leading Us to Peace? Really?
By Austin Hill
Sunday, October 14, 2007

Thank God somebody was willing to ask.

“Ask what?” you might be wondering. I’m getting to the question of what it is, exactly, that Al Gore did to enhance “peace” such that he has now won a Nobel Peace Prize.

While the White House officially expressed “happiness” last week over Gore’s award, and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi used the occasion to reassure us that Mr. Gore has sounded a “clarion call” that has “awakened the world” to the “very real threat” of global warming, the question of what has Gore done for “peace” remains.

Of course, we should acknowledge that Gore served the United States as its Vice President during “peace-time.” So did Dan Quayle, and George H. W. Bush, and Walter Mondale, and the service of each of these former V.P.’s no doubt contributed to the overall objective of “peace” throughout the world.

But Quayle, Bush and Mondale never got a Nobel Peace Prize. And Gore’s prize has now been bestowed six years after leaving his position as Vice President. So what exactly has Gore done to warrant this otherwise high honor?

There doesn’t seem to be any easy, substantive answer to this question. And while many of us in the media have been overindulging in speculation for the past few days about “the prize” being enough to instigate that long-awaited Gore For President 2008 campaign, there is at least one politician who has dared to question Gore’s selection for the Nobel Peace Prize in the first place.

He is a “President” himself, the President of a new and growing democracy in Eastern Europe - - but you’ve probably never heard of him.

Vaclav Klaus, President of the Czech Republic, dared to release a statement last week claiming that he was “somewhat surprised” that former US vice president Al Gore received the Nobel Peace Prize. In this written statement he claimed that “the relationship between his activities and world peace is unclear and indistinct,” and that “it rather seems that Gore’s doubting of basic cornerstones of the current civilization does not contribute to peace.”

Thank you, Mr. President!

While U.S. Mayors, Governors, Congressional members and foreign heads of state continue fawning over Gore as he narrates a motion picture, produces rock concerts, preaches his eco-centric gospel of green, and insists that “the scientific community” agrees with everything he says, there is at least one head of state who has the audacity to suggest that Gore might be misunderstanding some things.

And what might be the misunderstandings? What are those “basic cornerstones of the current civilization” that Gore seems to be doubting?

President Klaus made this very clear earlier this Summer, while writing in the Financial Times Journal. In his June essay, Mr. Klaus called into question the hysteria that is the “global warming movement,“ by making the outrageous observation that weather patterns change over time. He also mentioned that during the past century the average global temperature increased only .6 percent. In an additional shocking claim, Klaus stated that, among adults living on planet earth today, “all of us have noticed that even during our life times temperature changes occur (in both directions).”

So German Chancellor Angela Merkel and (former) British Prime Minister Tony Blair and “authorities” at the United Nations and other big and important people around the world obsess about so-called “global warming” and seek to, quite literally, “change the weather.“ All the while, President Klaus has repeatedly been so bold and brash as to remind us that “change” is a natural facet of the weather, and that the global temperature hasn’t increased very much in the past one hundred years.

Most important about President Klaus‘ comments is the fact that he identifies the global warming hysteria for what it truly is: yet another attempt to control human behavior and constrain human liberty. These are threats to civilization with which Mr. Klaus is well acquainted, given that he has lived most of his life under communist dictatorships.

In his Financial Times Journal editorial, President Klaus concluded by saying “I feel obliged to say that I see the biggest threat to freedom, democracy, the market economy and prosperity now in ambitious environmentalism, not in communism. This ideology wants to replace the free and spontaneous evolution of mankind by a sort of central (now global) planning.”

By every indication it would seem that Al Gore, officials at the United Nations, and the decision markers with the Nobel Prize believe that a “central, global” economic planning is the very force that can lead humankind closer to prosperity, and peace.

Unfortunately, none of these people would seem to have learned the lessons of history, as President Klaus apparently has.

Saturday’s Wall Street Journal asked the obvious question; What does Algore’s movie have to do with World Peace ? The editorial then went on to list dozens on international personalities who had done more. First on the list were Buddhist Monks in Burma.

Why the fuss? Gore isn't end all be all - every one should be heard on the subject, although MR. Gore seems a little more closed minded than others. I keep having this picture of the Gore photo op when he had all this water in some drought stricken part of the US released to float his boat....oh well. Here is the most delightful little test you will want to send on to all you know.

Enjoy!

ONE of the world’s leading meteorologists has described the theory that helped Al Gore win a share of the Nobel prize “ridiculous”.

Dr William Gray, a pioneer in the science of seasonal hurricane forecasts, spoke to a packed lecture hall at UNC Charlotte and said humans are not responsible for the warming of the earth.

His visit, arranged through the meteorology program at UNCC, came on the same day that Gore was honoured for his work in support of the link between humans and global warming.

“We’re brainwashing our children,” said Gray, 78, a longtime professor at Colorado State University. “They’re going to the Gore movie (An Inconvenient Truth) and being fed all this. It’s ridiculous.”

Gray, whose annual forecasts of the number of tropical storms and hurricanes are widely publicised, said instead that a natural cycle of ocean water temperatures - related to the amount of salt in ocean water - is responsible for the global warming that he acknowledges has taken place.

However, he said, that same cycle means a period of global cooling will begin soon and last for several years.

“We’ll look back on all of this in 10 or 15 years and realise how foolish it was,” Gray said.

During his speech to a crowd of about 300 that included meteorology students from several Carolinas universities and a host of professional meteorologists, Gray also said those who have linked global warming to the increased number of hurricanes in recent years are in error.

He cited statistics, showing there were 101 hurricanes from 1900-1949, in a period of cooler global temperatures, compared to 83 from 1957-2006, when the earth warmed.

“The human impact on the atmosphere is simply too small to have a major effect on global temperatures,” Gray said.

He said his beliefs have made him an outsider in popular science.

“It bothers me that my fellow scientists are not speaking out against something they know is wrong,” he said. “But they also know that they’d never get any grants if they spoke out. I don’t care about grants.”

AlGore, who flunked out of divinity school, dropped out of law school (may have flunked out, but records are unavailable), got a D in the only college science course he took that approached earth sciences, and refuses to debate with anyone who disagrees with his pagan Gia religion, is trying to communize and pauperize the whole world on the basis of bogus anthropogenic GW theology.

I managed to download the entire documentary “The Great Global Warming Swindle”, before it was taken off of Google.

It is an excellent documentary. Very well done.

I’ve been sharing it with co-workers. Everybody should see it. I don’t know why it’s not being shown here in the US.

Maybe the U.K. will save the world.

When the Western Left abandoned truth in favor of "A Higher Morality" (viz. propaganda) it abandoned its trustworthiness.

Many people--including me--are agnostic on the subject of Global Warming or Global Cooling, but, aware of how deceitful, untrustworthy, manipulative, agenda-driven, and mendacious Leftists' propaganda is, I have no choice but to dismiss them and everything they say.

Tell him to watch Part 6 of ‘The Great Global Warming Swindle’ here:

This nails the political truth behind Gore’s Lysenko exercise.

And the other parts of the film also affirm the hoax but Part 6 gets to the heart of what the global warming movement really is.

Notice the “propaganda” inside the REST of the article: “right wing” used frequently, “funded by” clearly identified = evil money - though Gore’s carbon trading money is ignored, Numerous “scientist” views projected in protest, etc.....

Another liberal hit piece on the side of reason, by supporting the liberal AGW agenda.
