That's no lie.
Even in California, IIRC, the "dirty little secret" of initiatives
like "English-language immersion" in public schools, no racial preference
for state hiring and university slots, etc....
was that legal immigrants voted for them.

When Dubya and Co. started to pander even to the illegal sector,
they just became a pale imitation of the Democrats.

And when given a choice between a Democrat and a Republican-imitating-
a-Democrat....they usually vote for the Democrat.
