Wild fires breaking out in So California Malibu fire
That's for sure. Hey, there ought to be an expression, "spreading like wildfire" or something...
A wildfire that broke out near the Pacific Coast Highway on Sunday morning was threatening structures and forcing the evacuation of Pepperdine University and homes in the nearby Malibu Crest neighborhood, authorities said.
That figures with these dry winds across the state. Al you don’t have a mistress there do you?

Malibu Fire Now at 400 Acres and 70 Engines
Los Angeles County Fire Department Inspector Frank Garraido reported this morning there is zero containment on the fire that broke out near Pepperdine University. Some confusion exists in the ferociousness of this fire but evacuations are in effect for Pepperdine University, Malibu Crest and Serra Retreat, Garraido said. There are more than 400 acres burned and growing, 70 engines from the County, City, and Forrest Service along with 4 water helicopters and 2 water planes. Currently there are no injuries reported to citizens or fire personnel.
Fire officials report the areas evacuation are Malibu Crest, Pepperdine and Serra Retreat, despite early reports of the evacuations in Malibu Colony.
Fire officials are not sure at this point how many stations are responding because help is coming from so many different directions.
Folks at Pepperdine University reported smelling smoke as early as midnight last night. Currently Smoke is reported smelled as far away as Topanga.

I heard a church burned
i know that everything gets reported and seen...especially sensational fires and what not...but there seems to be so many more of them anyone ever entertain the thought that many of these could be intentionaly set in a planned manner...it could be a form of terrorism
What was it, two days ago, yesterday, maybe that strong Santa Ana winds were forecast?
Never fails, alert the pyros and they come out with the road flares and BBQ lighters.
There are two other fires, I believe.
IT was Malibu Presbyrterian.. Say your prayers for Malibu and the folks at Pepperdine.
many structures on fire now
Just everyone who lives here. But our home-grown terrorists don't need much help. When the Santa Ana's start to blow, arsonists get the itch. Past history has shown that they are often firefighters, eager to make some extra money.
FNC is reporting the winds are reaching near hurricane force. The PCH has been shut down in several areas, as the fire has jumped it. Over 500 acres has been consumed in only a few short hours.
Thank you for the live feed.
So far so good down in SD area.
Prayers for all today.

Two Out of Control Fires in Southern CA
*******************************
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (AP) - Two Los Angeles area wildfires are causing worries this morning.
A 50-acre blaze near the Pacific Coast Highway is threatening Pepperdine University and the Malibu Crest neighborhood. L.A. County fire officials say it has burned at least 50 acres.
In the northeastern part of the county, 50 mile-per-hour winds and dry conditions have been stoking a blaze in the Angeles National Forest. Authorities say that fire has consumed about 500 acres.
Fire officials are focused on protecting a town in Ventura County about five miles west of the blaze. A Forest Service spokesman says the fire could threaten homes to the south and southwest by the end of the day if the fires continues to move that direction. Picture courtesty of CBS5
I’d love to have place like that. Very cool house with spectacular views.
Oh well .. guess I’ll go buy another Lotto ticket...
I don’t think you would want it now.
I have an idea. Get Al Baby to introduce you to one of his rich lady friends that live there! You’ll know what to do. ;-)
Malibu city is now asking every resident to evacuate west!
(And the way the coastline is there, that does not mean into the ocean. Due west is actually farther "north" up the coastline.)
everyone?
Thoughts and Prayers to our friends in SoCal.
The castle I was planning to buy for 17 million is engulfed in flames so now I should get a much better deal
