"...That wasn't it. Due to the draft, there was sense on the Left that the guys in 'Nam were to be pitied, especially as their "consciousness hadn't been raised" as to the wrongness of what they were doing.

With no draft, the sense today on the Left is that our people in Iraq are the Enemy...."

True, except I think it has gone even further than that. As I recall the late Sixties and early Seventies- shame, itself, had not yet faded away, and the fear still existed of being exposed for doing such a hideous thing.

Today, however, it would simply bring paid invitations to speak on certain campuses.

If you recall when US Army Ranger Pat Tillman was killed. We had people insulting him. And saying he deserved to be killed. Ted Rall called him an idiot as did others. Though the issue with Tillman needs to be sorted out. We have had our Soldiers, Sailors, Airman and Marines abused by the Anti War crowd. We have had Phony Soldiers like Jesse McBeth the Woman Beater and Credit Card Fraud criminal lie about “His Service in Iraq” murdering Woman and children.

The war on our Military personnel has not let up. It is time we stop caving into these Assholes. And fight fire with fire. I am happy to see Code Pink out numbered in Berkeley. Communists and Friends of Al-Queda need to be opposed.

Let’s all be perfectly honest with ourselves.

Not a single thing will be done about this.

Thiss America in the 21st Century.
