The jury in the Holy Land Foundation terrorism-financing trial was unable to reach unanimous decisions on most of the defendants including the Holy Land Foundation itself, U.S. District Judge Joe Fish said Monday. He ordered them back to the jury room to discuss whether further deliberations might allow them to reach a decision. If not, he is likely to declare a hung jury on many counts in the complex case. In all, the jury was asked to make 197 decisions on guilt or innocence.

Note to jury members: Wake up!
Fox Reporter was shouting this as a big blow to the Bush admn. Right, if terrorists get released by a dumb jury is it bad for the Country or Bush admn. These “reporters” have no clue.
Having served on a jury last year, if it was typical at all, I think not being awake may be a good thing. It took a panel of over 100 to choose a jury on a simple assault case.
There is no requirement to serve on a jury other than a pulse. Most are dumb as posts, or the functional equivalent if the case involves anything that does not involve sports, rap music or soap operas.
A random 12 out of a hat would be preferable...

I have to vote early on the Texas Constitution changes because I am called for jury duty November 5.
I am Juror number over 60 which never get picked.
After a couple of hours they release all jurors numbered over about 30.
There was something last week about the jurors asking the judge for instruction on what to do if a jury member wouldn’t vote. Of course, my first thought was to wonder if there was a Muslim on the jury. I’m still wondering.
