NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Apple Inc. reported that profits in its fiscal fourth quarter surged 67 percent due to strong sales of Mac computers and the iPhone.
Results trounced Wall Street's expectations.

The sales of iPods are up modestly, but the real news is the increased shipments of Macintosh computers. With OS X 10.5 (Leopard) about to be released, and the holidays almost upon us, I think we can expect even these fantastic results to be blown out of the water next quarter.
Sure am glad I got in at $102! And doubly glad I own four Macs!

I have a dream and that dream is to own a MacBook. I want to rid myself of the constant updating with potential crashing and not to mention having to rebuild my PC every few years....

I have a dream and that dream is to own a MacBook. I've had a white Intel MacBook for about a year now. It cost me about $1300. It is the best computer value for money I have ever purchased. It is an extremely capable computer, faster than my desktop G5. Windows runs at blistering speed on the rare occasions I need it.
Most people really do not need to spend the extra money for the MacBook Pro.

Hear, hear! My time is valuable enough that the very first time I have to wipe and reinstall Windows, I would have been better off paying the difference to buy a Mac. I do have Windows 2000 running beautifully, but only in a Parallels virtual machine-- so if it gets a virus or a flaky update, I can drag-and-drop a new Windows installation from a backup file.

More like 1000%. They’ve had at least two stock splits in recent memory.

5 years ago the share price was $7. Today in after-hours trading, it is over $186. That’s more than a 2500 percent increase.

We have been a PC family for years. My son is a junior in college and bought himself the MacBook and loves it.
My youngest bought the Pro when he went to college and he loves it and so do I on the rare occasions I get to use it.
I would love to have the MacBook, it is the perfect size for me.

I suspect a lot of folks (including us) are looking at the Mac because of our experience with Vista.

I bought 200 shares for $21 way back when. They split lowering the cost to $10.50. That stock is now up 1,550%.
Unfortunately they belong to someone else as I sold them at $38...

Wait a few weeks, after the hubbub over the release of the newest version (Leopard) of the OS X operating system has died down. Go to your local Apple store, or an independent Apple dealer. Ask if you can see a 24 inch iMac running Leopard, and better yet, also running Windows XP under Parallels virtualization. I guarantee you will be impressed.
